I'm not opposed to helping people but every time I see stuff like this people come back for 2 days then leave again.

some people just want the easy route i guess.... I used greens / blues/ purps till nearly 5k ego.. lol you don't need ojs to play.. its nice to have them, and it feels great to earn/ win one . but I'm currently running some blues in my loads just for fun and to test my skill. besides its not that hard to buy weapons in game right now either... cause the event is going on and people need space. I have seen regulars ojs selling super cheep,.. or even free . but you need to pay attention... just last week i vendored 4 ojs.. no one cared to buy em, i didn't care to keep em...

It's easy. all of your gear is garbage. Since they added threat levels you have to keep your gear at your EGO level for it to be useful. Most if not all the gear you had before leaving, is at least 25% lower than your EGO so they don't do much. Also the weapons have now been overhauled a few times so those are antigue weapons.

I am not saying get rid of them, just that you need to level the ones you keep. Also there are people on Ps3 that will buy certain antique guns from you. SO you might be able to earn some SCRIP by selling to them. Also with the fact that you have to spend Arkforge to level gear to your EGO (and AF is hard to get enough of) unless you are at least EGO 4500 - 5000 then you do not want to bother with Oranges as they are expensive to keep maintained.
