Someone may have already posted about this, if so, sorry. But, as far as I can tell there is no way to set double-tap to evade. The default being Alt, it would be much more instinctive if we could just double-tap WASD to evade in those directions.

I second this request. Double-tapping WASD to roll/evade is fairly common in PC games and I was rather surprised to find that Defiance did not have something as simple as this implemented in their game, if not as the default then at least as an option.
I'm getting the hang of going for 'alt' although it took a while, but I'll third a request for doubletapping...
