    Price Check Thread

I know people try to get price checks in their respect forums all the time. I've done it myself. Unfortunately, this often leads to little help in most cases.

I do not want this to be a trading thread.

I do want a wider range of people to weigh in on prices than those who populate specific forums.

This is meant to be a thread that is helpful to both new players and veterans alike.

Nonetheless, you will need to state your region and platform.

Once again, this is not a trading thread. Go to your specific forum for selling/trading.

That said, this thread will likely crash and burn, if it even gets off the ground.

I will declare myself as one the richest people in PCNA

This thread will not work because of the differential population between the platforms. This alone makes an impact in price ranges. The more the population, the greater the inflation. I'd predict the script earning of each individual on a daily basis to be about 10,000-20,000 for the casual gamers whereasit can be doubled for those that play more. With more scrip in circulation, the prices for items becomes much more because of the availability, just think of real world application; the more money the government prints, the more is needed to buy a product.
Then there's the lack of scrip sinks. Without a valid option for people to spend scrip on, they end up hoarding them more and more which further devalues scrip.
Now given the previous information, scrip becomes worthless to some extent in terms of transactions for higher end items. The value of those items is determined via two factors, the willingness of the seller to sell the item and the availability of the item. Those two factors determine or more so influence an items value.

In order to balance some of the inflation, a handful of people including myself have taken the liberty to horde the vast majority of PC NA's scrip. By doing so, this lowers the scrip value of many items which allows us to manipulate the market even more

TLDR version: no this isn't gonna work

I've been playing long enough to know that prices change drastically.

Yes, prices are different on the various platforms and regions.

A greater familiarity with those differences will help all players.

The purpose of this thread is too take the power out of the hands of the manipulators.

That is very unlikely because those that manipulate the prices are often the ones that hold the majority of available supply or the more desired item of equal or greater value

For example, ask anyone in PC NA where to find someone selling Spinal Tap weapons/mods, majority of them will point to me. The question though is will I sell it to some random person spamming zone or the trading thread? the answer is mostly no. That is because if I approach them, they're in control. If they approach me however, I can dictate what I want for it

When spinal tap came out, people were selling them like they were non pay wall blocked items, pricing them the same as common gears. I invested 40 million into it knowing its full potential based on people's psychological demand tendencies. Now was I right? Yes, Yes I was. I would say that I have at least a 95% monopoly of Spinal Tap in PC NA

Given the extreme demand for it, and almost non existent of supply besides myself, I know that I can dictate whatever price I want as long as I don't back down when it comes to negotiating.

The problem is, most people don't know the art of haggling/bartering and just go with the price that I set.

The lesson here is that knowledge is power. Predictability is everyone's downfall as this is exactly why the prices of stuff fluctuate to a manipulators market. As a friendly advice to everyone if you want to get something for cheap, settle having "almost" good items instead of trying to get the "best". That few amount of difference in stats could be the difference between 1 million and 10 million

We all do, and that is highly understandable. My point however is no matter how much people would want "fair" prices and estimates, this would never work unless trion some how miraculously decides to add an auction house.

And back to the topic at hand, if you want an approximate evaluation of item prices, it goes as follows:

    Blues =10-15k
Purples = common, non event, non canonneer or quartermaster would be about 30-50k
OJ = non named or non high demand specific rolled items = 50-70k
    Good Named = varies
Bad named = any cold fire weapon, heartbreaker weapons ( you may as well sell these for 50k or vendor them cause they're junk )

I am not necessarily talking about fair prices. I am talking about price checks i.e. current market value.

You, as an admitted manipulator, have no interest in such an open exchange. And I guess that is why you are trying to bog down this thread.

Yes I manipulate the market to my advantage but the point still remains that without an auction house, ANYBODY can dictate prices. One persons 1 million estimate is another persons 2 million estimate. Unless you control the market supply, it's value is open to everyone's opinion. I have even openly mentioned my disdain towards an auction house as it would lower my business severely

The only difference between myself and the majority of sellers is that I estimate an item based on its usefulness, practicality, rarity, and it's supply. I don't just stick with a non fluctuating value. When ST came out, I was selling them for 5-10m a piece. When supremes came out, I was selling the same items for 750k-1m because turning purples to yellows was not possible, but given the announcement that they plan on changing this, I have raised the prices back.

I've noticed that PC NA is the most expensive platform when it comes to buying stuff for scrip. Im not the richest on PS3 NA but I would I have the inventory to trade for anything I ~want. Personally I like to build up scrip just to go on a buying spree however a lot of the old school players on PS3 NA only trade high end items.

I cant see us ever getting an auction house, AHs require a mail system and i cant see it happening for various reasons.

Would be nice if they made it a little easier for us to trade thru forums, my first thought is providing a keybind with the function to export our inventory into a text file with the relevant bbcodes and gun/mod info formatted for an easy copy/paste to forums.
