Kebabs huge REVIEW of the game - what is awesome and what is facking me out

(I had never learned to speak English, please forgive me)

Wanna show someone how this game is rated? Just send him link to this thread.
Wanna comment something in my list? Just say something in another post.

    AWESOME
    • Huge, open world where we can play with friends or just random people. Someone is doing main quest, side quest or just killing mobs in random events? We can help him without any invite and get the reward.
    • Nice coop maps and PVP game style.
    • Tons of awesome weapons and mods. You can upgrade your weapons with random, less or more rare mods, level up your skill in using this ONE weapon or this kind of weapons. If you can't get mod for your weapon you can still upgrade it with resources and get the mod slot you want.
    • Nice story and characters used in main quest. Every character like Torc, Van Bach, just everyone is cool and memorable.
    • Cool combat, in small areas, big coop maps or huge random events. There are many people, many mobs, many shooting. Pure awesomness. Everything is exploding, fun fun fun fun.
    • No classes, you do not need to create and build another character to know the game fully, you decide who you actually want to play.

    SH!TLIST
    • Trion wanna insert their "thing" into players back "hole". Game is totaly overpriced, tons of DLCs, Seasons Pass, microtransactions - everything was anounced months before release. I hate when game creators wanna **** my vallet and force me to buy another Seasons of main quests after release. **** isn't a vulgar word when we wanna comment Trions politics, this is a FACT.
    • Hard-endgame. After killing main boss, finishing main quest, you have nothing to do in this game. Coop and PVP is boring after some days, collecting new items and running around map to check out merchants is booooooooring even more.
    • RIFT-styled game. This game looks like modification to RIFT, poor modification.
    • No global market. We do not feel that we gain something in this game. After 5 days of playing I've maxed out equipment. We don't feel that we are awesome, we have rare and unique stuff. Everyone will look similar after 1 month in this game.
    • The game has been made in 4 months. Or maybe in 6 if we will include DLCs, there's totaly nothing to do, just shooting. No crafting, no skills. Oh well, 4 skills and 30 perks without any cool stuff (idiotic +1 to X skill) are just pure stupidness.
    • Bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs. I was playing alpha stage of the game, just DAY before release. Trion is cheating and lying. Game in 6 April is nearly the same like in alpha stage 1 April! GOD. They just changed alpha stage into final release without fixing main bugs.

    CONCLUSION
    5/10

I participated in Beta and was actually on the fence right up until launch day as to whether to buy the game. It had a lot of potential, and could really have been something amazing. Unfortunately, considering there is supposedly a staff of 150 working on this game, the end result is rather poor in my opinion. Yes, I know there is a rabid group of Fanbois that will attack and jump down my throat, much as they did through beta etc, that this is the best thing since, I don't know, cherries? but regardless of this small group, the game seems to lack an overall direction.

Is it an MMO that is TPS? or RPG?
while yes is definitely an MMO, and yes is a TPS, they claimed to want RPG part, and this might be one of the least immersive games possible, considering your toon had its tongue cut out at an early age. (the voice you hear when injured is just another mental voice in your head)....

Is it a console game or a PC game?
Here they tried for everything, and failed across the board imo, or at least they failed on the PC side bigtime, which is where I play. I feel badly for everyone on consoles having trouble getting into the game, absolutely.
Console games are just a totally different ballgame from PC MMOs, for the most part. Buy a Console game, finish the story, return it and get credit whatever towards the next one to come out, rinse and repeat. The timeline to play a game is in hours and days for the most part, a week if you are slow... Granted, there are exceptions....

PC MMOs, or even MMOs in general, are way way different. The idea is to keep the person playing in terms of months, not days or weeks... As such, it needs to have a different balance setting from non MMOs.

    IS it FTP? Sub?
again, it has everything set up to be FTP, and yet they decided to charge megabucks for the starting kit, as well as DLC and everything else in the game. I know a lot of ppl went and bought the expensive starter packs, which just makes me shake my head and /boggle. I know a lot did, because I see the darn idiotic robosuit running all over the place. Tell me again, why is a robosuit with 0 stats worth an extra $30 or whatever?

as to your sh_tlist, I agree with several. I never played rift, and after this game, I doubt i will bother trying it out. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me... Endgame, bah, I am not there yet, still trying to work up the courage to go through the main questline again after betas etc. I got sick of them in the first runthrough, it actually takes there being nothing else to do almost to make we actually bother progressing along the main line...

Still, while there is really not much content in the game as of now, there supposedly is a lot coming down the tubes. Granted we could all be following the Pied Piper and his magical flute regarding this issue. We have only the PR and Devs to hear on this. None of us are really in the know or anything. Fanbois who take this as gospel, well, that is their choice...

Global Market situation very poor, but at the same time, considering how the weapons and gear are set up in this game, there would have to be a total revamp of all gear for a market to make sense, not to mention the fact that one outlvls a particular item in a matter of a few hrs in this game. Why bother spending money on something that will only be a slight upgrade for a very short period of time...

You give a timeline of 4 months for this game. I have no clue how long they have been at it. I find it surprising that the product we have here is actually the result of 150 ppl working on it. Let me put it this way, while I am sure they mean well, and did work hard, it seems decidedly unfinished. Heck, I would take Vanguard at their extremely publicized release over this game in its current form. I don't know if this is because they decided to use every platform available in the hopes of making more money or what. There are lots of theories and conjecture out there, but very little proof or evidence.

suffice it to say, this game needed at least another 3-5 months of hard fixes and additional content before release, but then again they could not do that when it was tied into the TV show. The question will be, will the game kill the show, or the show kill the game? That has yet to be revealed....

I agree with you on the beta crap. Every day there were posts mentioning problem areas like chat, ammo, weapon drops, shields, UI, mouse issues, lag, keybinding etc etc etc...

These were brought up time and time and time again. Supposedly, the devs were reading all of this, but for the most part, they posted very very little, if anything, in response to any of this. Ill be honest with you, pretty much the only differences I noticed from one beta build to the next was the amount of ammo dropping. Not much else. The same bugs that were there months ago, were in the game days before release, and for the most part are still in now. Now, we hear that there will be an uber patch fixing lots of stuff in a week or so, around the 10th...Well, at this point, I am pretty disillusioned and mostly expect to get additional ammo drops, and not much else. That seems par for the course. Oh, the beta builds changed numbers, but that could just as well have been just literally changing the build numbers...

we will see in a week, or if not, then they will promise us that the first DLC is going to be amazing, a new and bigger carrot, and then, well, it might be the next DLC pack after that, since the first one was insufficient...

it all remains to be seen, and how much tolerance the playerbase has for being led around by the nose. This player has about had it, but is willing to wait just a little more to see if 150 ppl can actually get some of this stuff accomplished.

if trion had smartly gated access to the main story missions requiring you to finish a certain number of side missions in between, there would be a lot less whines about the length of it.

No there wouldn't the people that are whining about the lack of story length would be complaining that they had to do all of these side quests. The reality is there is nothing in any game that will truly satisfy their desire to advance. This type of person typically rushes to the endgame of MMO's and then complains that there is nothing left to do.

Most likely you have not played in a real mmorpg, where there always is something to do, what to play and where to fight to not get bored.

After you have played 3+ MMO's...it all feels the same which then makes it feel as there is nothing to do. At some points in MMO history you had a decent variety of games to play with decently different concepts and mechanics. Now you have WoW, WoW Clones and MMOTPS/MMORPGTPS as companies try to make something new. Only problem is...if people want shooters, they play MW, CoD...hell is CS still running? iunno possibly. If they want WoWisk games, they find one that has mechanics in a manner they like thats new/newish so they arnt so far behind the curve they have to spend 200$+ on base game+expansions.

What it boils down to for endgame content being boring or not is what your looking for, how many games you have played and just how jaded your view/opinion of games is.

Well. I was testing alpha since many months. They just removed "Alpha" and named it "Full". Whole game is the same like alpha in last days before release. So... we are still playing alpha
