I only had about an hour and a half in beta, so didn't have opportunity to have it all worked out by launch.

And hey, that's why when I went to claim my pre-order rewards from store it was 5 items, instead of the 6 items I swear it was on the first character attempt?!

I had to do it a couple of times. I did not know how much you could customize the look of your character since they hide it at the top left...

I made four characters before I figured out that we could change the haircut, get facepaint etc. When I did, I made all four char's all over again. I then played with three of them until I beat the first "boss" (in the encampment on top of that hill) before I decided on which char should be my main.

As for the three dozen DC Universe Online chars, on the other hand... lol

I did the same thing, obviously their layout is not good.

Threads like this tell me that people are struggling to find a look they dislike the least, rather than one they like the most. And that's never a good thing with a character creator.

Still, this is all something they received plenty of feedback on during testing. They just chose not to make any improvements.

As much as I enjoy the game, this is unfortunetely true.
I didn`t count, but I probably made about 8 female characters, some I deleted right after the intro cutscene, some I played for a few hours before deciding I just can`t live with it.
My focus shifted from trying to go for a style I like to using settings that make my character look less like frankenstein`s daughter.
The fixed vertical camera angle in the editor doesn`t help either.
I am now more or less happy with the look, but it doesn`t feel like I even had a choice.
Again, I really love the game, but the character editor feels outdated by 10 years.

Hehe i also did this in beta but it's not ok that you create a char and then it doesn't even resemble to the one u created in character creation

I didn't think a game could have a worse character creator than The Secret World, but here we are. Your choices are Very ugly to slightly less ugly. If it were a first person game I wouldn't mind but now I have to stare at my hideous creation. At least the game has war paint and masks. (Just poking fun)

Quick edit, the main problem for me is I don't get a look I want and it creates a disconnect.

i did the tutorial once and only once. For 1 simple reason. Who Cares? The customization is very bland and im wearing a mask anyways... Specifically the Crimelord helmet so not like you can see my unique face anyways lol
