How will people take the game.

I meant updates like new zones, pvp maps and co-op missions. I know skill will mean more in a TPS then in an RPG like WoW or Rift, but I would still like it if this game was more than a gear treadmill like those games. Since it looks like we have 2 weapon slots plus a shield I don't this it will.

I think he means that he's better at MMORPG's since they are stat/ability based where a higher level character almost always has the advantage where as in Defiance since it's a MMOTPS it's more equipment/skill based where regardless of level you can still be killed by a newbie or even a group of then.

No I'm saying i want it to be skill based not gear/lvl based like a mmorpg. I like the idea of newbies being able to do stuff.

Gotcha, well from some posts I've read it is skilled based to a degree, They were talking about shadow wars and what would happen if a lvl 1000 joined in a game of lvl 100's and they said that though the high level player would have more options and tools at his disposal, he could still be beaten by a lvl 100.
