I saw Datak Tarr wield an awesome little energy blade knife thing in one of the making of videos. I really hope things like that eventually make it into the game. Not that I need them, I'm just as happy with a nice powerful shotgun if things get hairy up close, but I'll never say no to an additional energy blade

I think someone mention in stream that there is some sort of limited use melee weapon available. But melee attacks are in the game, so I wouldn't doubt if there were bayonets available, as there are abilities that make you do more melee damage.
