Livestream concerns

Hello all, i have watched all of the livestreams and have a few concerns.
1. Connectivity, its Alpha/Beta, but c'mon.
2. Grouping w friends and TALKING too them, hence its not labeled a single player mmo right?
3. No more shooting, i get it, we shoot stuff....show other aspects of the game.
4. The devs are nice, but have someone there to answer the questions that HAVENT been answered yet, you cant play/answer at the same time obviously by current results.
5. IS there more to the game?

Anyone able to add anything constructive?

I do understand your frustration but you also need to understand not all games are for everyone. With the NDA there isnt a lot that can be answered but here's the deal as I see it:

1: Alphas (and betas) are updated several times a day, what do you want?

2: There is a chat down in the right corner.

3: It is a shooter not an RPG. MMO stands only for massivemultiplayeronline.

4: This one I agree with, even if I understand that the game is still in development and that there is NDA, It would be nice not to have the same questions answered every stream

5: Again, it is a shooter that takes place in a big open world, sure it has lore and quests, but it is 95% about shooting. It is not a MMORPG with shooter flavor, it is a MMOShooter with a little extra taste. Also remember what we have seen is but a fraction, you can count on seeing a lot more once the NDA lifts and the game is closing in on release.

Im not asking about quests, storylines, adv gear, weapons, powers, etc. These are basic questions about the game itself.
If they want to keep things "ultra-secret" then they are just shooting themsleves in the foot from the get go.

I think they would do well to have someone monitor chat that can answer questions, or at least give the current mods some basic info to stop people from asking the same question over and over again until it is answered on stream.

Well, as one of the current mods on the stream I can answer a few things. Keep in mind, of course, that I'm a volunteer and don't work for Trion - all I know is what I've learned on the streams and on thte forums.

I do what I can in chat to answer repeat questions that I see every week. I've only missed the majority of one stream since they started doing the Friday extravaganza. However I noticed this week that it was exceptionally difficult to keep up. Getting spammed with caps locked statements of "I WANT IN THE ALPHA GIVE ME THE ALPHA RIGHT NOW" made it super hard to keep an eye on what questions were being asked. That said, I was doing my best. I'm normally in the chat from 1:30 (when it starts) until right when it ends, so sometimes when it gets down to Defiance my eyes/fingers are sore and I miss stuff.

However, I will work to try and answer repeat questions quickly next week - then they hopefully won't be repeated as much.

Going back to Steel Paladin's questions now: As for other "mods" on the stream, normally there's a somewhat different streaming team there. Amary did a wonderful job filling in, and I'm really impressed with how she handled everything, but she's not normally the one who's handling questions. Normally, dahanese is doing the question wrangling and she's an old hat at streams. She states several times a stream that sometimes they just can't answer some questions because they are a) not talking about them or b) they are under NDA. They have to agree to the NDA too, they just have special dispensation for the streams. Things that are shown on the stream are not NDA'd, yes (and that's something that needs to be clarified a little better in the streams, at least between the "old guard" who've been there forever and the newer folks).

I guess what I'm saying is last week was a little different than the norm. Amary did a pretty bang up job for someone who doesn't normally run these things, and I do hope to see her in the future. Streaming isn't easy, especially when you're representing something that's NDA'd to the nines and people are pretty fervent about.

Edit: Also as a side note, whoever is asking the questions (this week, Amary, normally Dahanese) isn't playing the game. They are reading the chat and (occasionally) looking over at whatever mistake or silly thing Greg is doing, like trying to do 360's on a ATV.

Well Codex, I was logged in during the stream you did a great job, I had trouble keeping up with all the info being shot in the chat room, I even tried to answer some of the basic questions to make room for the question for things we do not know about.

Better job then i could of ever done, i looked at that chat ,1 Quesiton pops up it instanly off the screen n gotta scroll all the way though just to find it. Mind you it was late (uk here) and i could barly keep my eyes open at that time :> An yeah that stream kinda destroyed my sleep pattern hence why im awake now

Well I am in no way a mod on the streams but I do keep up with all the info provided.

1. As the other said it's a common issue but I'm sure it will all be ready by launch.
2. Well that technically follows under NDA so can't go into that one to much.
3. You do realize this is a TPS right? What else are you expecting them to be able to do? Go sky diving, surfing, bbq with friends?
4. This I can agree and disagree, just because you see them answer several of the same questions over and over every stream you need to sit back and realize it's not always the same people in the stream. There are new people constantly hence the same questions. Generally I try and help by posting the FAQ(from on here, also listed in my sig) if I see a common question, this week I was busy actually playing/joining in with them. As the others have said though Dahanese or whoever else may be controlling the stream is generally not playing and answering question, but do you expect them not to watch as well?
5. Of course there is but they don't want to spoil all of it by showing us everything.

I understand your concerns and frustrations but just bare with them. They can only do so much and answer so many question whether they are the same or new ones. But if you really want your questions answered you can always post them here or PM Myll_Erik(Lance) he will be glad to try and answer any questions you may have as long as it's not under NDA. For example he went through a thread this week and read off a bunch of questions we listed, and some of you complained because they are in alpha and know the answers but you people need to realize the public doesn't know these and wants to know so asking them and getting a solid answer to give to everyone is better than nothing at all.

Usually one person is answering questions. I think her name is Elizabeth. She answers in chat as well as asking the DEV's playing so they can answer out loud.

I think they are doing a very good job with the live streams. I have not seen any other company show off their games like this.

As they say many times during the stream they are playing on a test server which has glitches. They don't have to stream at all.
