In an attempt to fix my versions file patch abort issue I decided to try to verify the game files using the Steam app. It said there was a file missing and that it would be downloaded. When I looked at my game folder instead of being 10+ GB it is now only 13 MB. The Steam verification deleted everything.

Luckily I can copy my girlfriend's version. Still doesn't fix the fact that the patch server at http://update03.triongames.com is not working.
