    Patcher Crashes My Internet (PC)

I have been unable to finish downloading Defiance (for the PC) through the patcher, despite trying countless times since launch day. The problem is that the patcher keeps crashing my internet and knocking me offline! Then I have to reset my router every time, and then it just does it again. Obviously, this is unacceptable.

I have been playing MMOs since 1999, beginning with EverQuest. MMOs are my preferred genre, and I have played every major one ever released as well as numerous indie and F2P/B2P ones. NEVER have I had this happen to me before. I have played literally dozens of MMOs since 1999 and NEVER has any one of them ever crashed my Internet. The Rift patcher works perfectly fine; why would this problem exist with Defiance? Why didn't Trion just use the same patcher technology?

Does anyone have any reasonable suggestions?

Trion, please fix your Defiance patcher! I want to play your game!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. An actual fix for the patcher from Trion would be most appreciated.

You could try using a VPN connection. It might be that the download triggers anti-torrenting mechanisms on the ISP side. Using a VPN connection will encrypt your data so that the ISP are unable to see it as torrent traffic. This has resolved the issue for others. Good luck!

You could always try this one: http://www.hotspotshield.com/
