I don't think a group ramps up the difficulty as I believe the difficulty is determined by who initiates the mission...the others are just along for the ride. I remember having a group or two on some of my missions and don't think the TL was ramped up, or if it was, I was better able to complete it due to having a solid group.

Scottomatic, try to join a clan...a good one will help you level and get out of ruts...maybe even set you up with some helpful gear too.

Like I said I did it twice, on my own once on the eu and it was relatively easy and once again on the na with a clany and it was harder or seemed to be unless I'm getting mixed up with something else.
I seem to be rowing against the tide on this one so will bow out.

I love opulent bow out just yet. I could very easily be confused with other things I was doing. It's been several months since I've had to do the story missions so I could be completely wrong. Also, it's very possible I was carried by the others in my group. Honestly I'd trust your opinion over mine....

Either way though, I'd recommend clanning up...makes for a much more enjoyable game.

I always thought if instances were played by following the missions it ramped the difficulty depending on who was in the instance... where as if the season instance is launched through the menu (not following missions) you choose the difficulty and it stays put no matter who joins.

Im not in a clan and I have not tried grouping yet in Defiance. I'm a little hesitant to do that because I dont want to jump in a group not knowing for sure wtf I'm doing. So far all my attempts on that bunker have been solo. The upgrades definitely got me farther in than before, and Im going to try changing my second loadout to add a rocket launcher and see if that gets me through their armor. I haven't gone in there with any of those kind of weapons yet. I figure ill do a few solstice strikes with one to get some mastery and then take another run at it. I'm ego 497 so progressing rapidly. I will look for a clan once I feel like I'm not a complete fool :-) Thanks again fellas.

Clans will help you learn wtf you need to do lol. Look at the recruiting pages, and post your platform and server here too.

Last I knew the instanced season episode missions (That are also listed in co-op) stay at standard level if you enter them through their mission location icon. However if you ready up for them through the co-op mission then you can pick the difficulty (Provided you are high enough EGO to unlock the harder difficulties).

That is how I got my Grid Master pursuits done. I used the co-op menu and did the Arks Rise co-op on Expert.

My guess is that is how Bentu ended up in a higher TL version of the map. Especially if I was the one that he joined back then, as I tend to do them on advanced or expert with my main.

I forget where at atm, believe something like 508 EGO.... but started going one by one on those episodes and all was quite easy-to-ok to do..... and then came Season 2 - Ep 1.... I honestly believe I heard the 1st 2 guards laugh when they saw me turn the corner.... and soon vaporized my butt with no sweat.

After painfully eliminating 1 by 1 by 1, and always running left past the first roundabout office as none of those guards see through the clear windows... (haha!), I even rushed a few code downloads before getting killed. Knowing that they do not regenerate, just had to eliminate at least one before dying... go back and repeat.... At the first Monitor, I actually just run by him knowing they don't follow you.... I eventually got to the main control room and hid best possible till the timer ran out.... it was a long and painful win, but completed. Then 2-2 was easy easy... hehe

Soon after, a clan member mentioned the same as here.... wait and do Episodes much later on. But my thing is that these Episodes give good loot most times and open lots of side missions that also do so. So I will continue until I meet "another 2-1" and then run away till I get stronger.

Anyways, just wanted to mention how I did it so people remember about how there is no regens of troops and you don't always have to kill EVERY enemy... sneaking is available, too.

EDIT: btw, sniper in 2-1 is strongly recommended if not strong enough for direct kills... hehe

Sevillano - You are right, the first couple missions were a cakewalk. What you said is a perfect description of what I have been doing (one by one by one), except i am so OCD i have to try to kill all mobs. Ive actually successfully killed the first two guards, and all the guards in the office. However, the next two guards down the curved hallway are located where there's no good place for cover. If I retreat to some cover and draw them out, their shields just constantly reset to 100%, and they annihilate me. It only takes about 6 strikes from their lasers before i'm holding E or T. I have a pretty good shield, so i dunno whats up with that. I specialize in sniping and have used my sniper rifle combined with a rocket launcher that spawns manually detonating grenades. If things get tight I hide and switch my loadout to bring the purple EMC assault rifle with electricity and start to run and gun. But if there's more than one to deal with, i cant take enough damage from them to survive it. It sounds like you are at about the same level as me, do you mind if i friend you in game? We may be able to group up for some of these missions.

***EDIT, oops I see you are in Spain. Im on PC-NA so probably not going to find you in game.
