At first the driving was severely frustrating for me, it didn't feel at all like it was designed well and hated it. Then after playing quite a lot the past few days the driving seems far more intuitive then I had thought it was. Just do the pursuits once you get used to the vehicles. Even now that I can navigate the map with ease and take short cuts, it is a massive pain to do the time trials. Takes me at minimum 4-5 tries, and that's after having done all the other pedal to the medal achievements. Moral of the story, get used to the vehicles, then do time trials.

Time Trials - Trying my patience
OK, driving in this game doesn't bug me. However, having to restart each time trial 5 or 6 times because the stupid arches that I AM passing underneath do not register! WTH!
It seems every one that I have done so far has this problem, the first gate doesn't respond, whoops, i have to restart again, and again, and again, 6 times later, finally it starts to work. Its super crap when I finally get one going and miss a gate, or just get bronze, then i have to start the 6 times all over again...

Pretty much every time trial for me didnt take over 3 tries. APART FROM A SINGLE ONE WHICH TOOK AN ASTONISHING 22 TRIES and my computer table also felt that quite harshly from frustrations lol. Glad the one that took that long was only 1m30s long tho.

Nonetheless when I did them at release (or most of them) I didnt really have that lag that added 3 extra seconds to your silly timescore as there is now. At that time it only added 0.5 - 1 second extra so that is probably one reason why I managed to get through.

Second thing was leveling up runner skill. I ran through the rest of them after I had hit around 16 in runner skill and those extra benefits do help alot. :-)

I had the same problem with the first gate not registering when I went through and got gold on all the races the other day. I ended up sending in a 2 page bug report with everything that I found. And there were a lot of bugs with the time trials.

    BUT DEM TIME TRIALS.

I don't know what it is, I don't do alot of driving games but I have done LOTS of time trials in other games and generally find them easy. However in this game, the terrain for driving is one of the worst I have experienced, again not alot of driving games etc but still seems it. The terrain can just send a car sideways for no reason. The random events spawning practically on top of the points, which has lead to my car being destroyed by hell bugs that can magically pop underneath a moving vehicle (Most broken mechanic in the game I have found)

And the cars control just seem bad, maybe it's because I haven't worked out how to do propper hand break turns etc, but for those of you that CAN drive, got any tips? Like how to handbrake turn etc... I really need these last 2 time trials silver'd so I can get these pursuits done..

I DO FEEL THAT DRIVING HOWEVER IS FINE FOR GETTING US AROUND THE MAP, JUST THOSE RACES BLOW

EDIT: Okay i've been doing more races, and a fair few of them are absolutely fine, although seriously, mobs, arfkalls and random events spawning on the tracks it getting frustrating as HELL.
I was crap at time trials to start off with, hated them, but once your rollers level up they become relatively easy, even unlocked the black Charger which I never thought I would get.

If you find there is a crazy event happening during the middle of a race simply go complete the event then redo the race before it respawns. That's all I did in San Fran ^_^

Well, I feel like God's gift to driving now... Just finished my last Gold medal to get my Black Challenger... These races were HARD, like, "I'm never going to play another racing game ever again" hard. I was curled toe, white knuckling it the whole time. That, coupled with my bad Internet, I could not make a SINGLE mistake the whole race, because it would most often cause a fail. (My latency causes the race to add an extra 3-10 seconds onto my finish time when I cross the finish line) (This was most apparent on the 52 second Gold medal race, kept getting 51 seconds, and of course, the game's all like, WRONG, you got 57 this time! D:<) Worst, driving experience, EVER... I had to be psychic a few times there even, because the rings were loading slower than I was moving, but the game was still counting it as me having pasted the gates, so I was basically guessing a few times there during the race when the gates would lag behind, on which way I was supposed to go next. Oh, AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON EMERGENCIES SPAWNING ON THE RACE TRACK *ANGRYFACE* >:| In San Fran, I had to keep re-doing the Armistice day instance where Dark matter is attacking a group of what appears to be Echelon mercs, because it kept re-spawning right over the gates, with no way to actually go through the gate. (A skruggin' APC was parked directly inside of the circle...) All of my hate.

Just do the non time trial exploration pursuits until you have enough bonus boost to get through the trials and dont forget to level your runners to 10.
