I don't really know but considering SyFy is making it there's a 50\50 chance there going to end it to soon like most of there great tv shows. Anybody remember SGA and SGU and all the stargate MMO's and games? And that show was super popular. That's the one thing I'm am really starting to hate about that channel is they just love canceling there shows for stupid sports and wrestling.

Syfy is not Fox. Fox canceled Firefly.

On a side note, SGA did go 5 seasons. I love SGA. On the other hand with SGU only going 2 season, I think it could have went for a 3rd but it unfortunately had a really slow first 2 seasons in the sense of a time line. There wasnt alot of variation in half the stories. I enjoyed it but just saying I understand why SGU was cut early. SG1 imo is 2 stargate series btw. The first 6 seasons more or less had to do with the G'hould and Replicators where the last 4 seasons dealt with the Ori.

As where this falls with the conversation, Trion wont drop the game that easily with all the investment. This game will go for atleast 3 years from the footage and available content. Add more in a few nice sized DLCs or Expansions and I could see it being well played for 4-7 years but i also still havent played the beta.

Okay, I can't compete with a talking goat, but I did always want to be a nanny.

Animal humor aside, I agree with the folks siding with the game having its own longevity. The game play is solid, and with support from Trion (face it, they have some nice mmo games in their roster already), Defiance can easily stand on its own for quite some time. Adding console versions to the mix can only help. I mean, the PS3 (I won't even touch the issue of the PS4) has diddly squat when it comes to this kind of set up. DCUO is the closest thing and I was bored with it after about 10 hours because EVERYTHING in that game was "lather, rinse, repeat" until you puked.

It will be nice to play a multiplayer game in which I will hopefully not have racist psychos screaming "I'm gonna merk you!!" (We will save the rant on the idiotic use of "merk" for a different discussion on word origins and word mutilation by sub-humans.) or amped up 10 year olds squeaking every obscenity they can cobble together into their mics. I can't speak for the Xbox folks as I don't have that system, but the PS3 SERIOUSLY needs something like Defiance to provide a fun, interesting persistent game environment for people with common sense and a love of community.

Yeah, I think Defiance can have a very nice and long life. Unless they bring a My Pretty Pony MMO to the PS3, and then I am SOOOO there!

I think thats true for every MMO that is not pure PvP oriented.

Very true, and on that point, the whole show tie in weekly missions are INCREDIBLY appealing as long as they can keep it up.
