In response to your post the game has alot to do with the random events that happen as you drive buy calling for help ( grated these do get boring but...) Not to mention if you do the side quest they open up into muilti-layer missions that move all over (some not) . Second the game seems to really put a importants on gear seeing as this is not a standered MMO it's a hybrid. Think in line of boraderlands 2( not saying that this game is better or just like or is the same just stating the quailtys the games share ). This what i love about the game running round to a mission or a spot to come acrooss a event stop complete the event continue on , complete your mission only for a arkfall to *fall 400m from your postions...this is just what i enjoy . Also i would like you to take into to fact that the game and the TV show are tied together so the story mission stop (I GUESS WHERE THE SHOW STARTS). SO with that all i am saying is give it time make some buddies to play with find mature people or like minded people you make steam groups titled *such an such* so there's my 2 cents lol ...more like a buck 75 hehehe gl all out there KILL MANY BUGS !!!

No one complained because the comparison is not applicable. The only reason you're even trying to compare Defiance to another game is because it can't even stand on it's own merits.

Defiance in a nutshell

If you were expecting a shooter with some RPG/story elements you would be very pleasantly surprised.

If you were expecting an MMORPG with shooter style combat you will be dismayed.

Defiance is a deep shooter but as an MMORPG it has the depth of a puddle.

P.S.

People saying purists/weapons/etc are endgame might be right here but that is sad since in most other games that type of stuff is just for completionists and to pad content some. They are generally never considered end game.

As for the max ego, that is a bit more tricky. It is akin to having a game with 70 levels but only 20 levels of "leveling" content currently released.

If we are talking story aka main missions in defiance, you can very easily bang them out in 2 days.

Really everyone? what happened to gamers? why cant people wrap there head around this being a new IP and game world? I bet half of you complaining haven't scratched the surface of the Lore that is involved with this game. Who are the EMC, What did the Indogene do for the Votan collective, What are the Gulanee? I have read through the whole thread and haven't heard a single thing about the lore or game world.

This is new ground people! Its taking its first tentative steps into manhood and is still has much of life to experience (or for us to experience). Just enjoy the ride, and invest a little in it if gaming is truly your hobby.

If you dont like it then trade it in for something else that is more your speed, dont come on the forum and post hate because in all honesty the people who actually dont like this game are just a small percent who unfortunately post all about it on the internet and ppl who actually might be interested in this game are turned of by all the hate.

What I don't get is why any total moron would compare games on the sole merit of length. There's a huge difference in quality between the two games that goes far beyond length. You're taking one factor of the game which even then you're also completely wrong about since the main story of Bioshock Infinite took roughly 21 hours while the main story of Defiance took me around 12. To use an analogy: you're comparing two trees in two different forests as a comparison of each forest in it's entirety. Then again your posts indicate you're probably not smart enough to really understand that.

Defiance has a lot of filler content. Reputation grinds. Persuits/Achievements. Copy and Pasted side missions. Limited variety of event types. Is it something to do? Sure. Replying to idiots who want to compare video games solely based on their length is something to do, too. Neither is particularly fun but here we are.

That said they still manage to surprise me how unfinished the end product is.

It surprises me how many people think that an MMO on launch day is "a finished product", when the reality is MMOs grow over time.

This is far from finished, no MMO is finished until it fails and the servers shut down.

There are a fair few issues still. Some by design, some are bugged. That said, I'm curious to see what that 'major' patch will bring later this month.

Edit to this, is there any place where we can already see the patch notes?

I agree with OP completely. It's not even just about playing for "four days" straight. Everyone's going to eventually get where he's at sooner or later and the lack of content is going to take it's toll on the majority of the players. The concept about constantly adding in content is fine, but the game hardly had any to begin with, it feels very unfinished. I've seen more single player games with a bigger map.

i just finished .. and for me anyway .. no i dont want to go back to the early areas and kill the same stupid bugs over and over . after you finish the story progression .. in your toon and in the story stops flat .

i defently didnt rush anything .. played on and off since release ego is only just under 400 , was in sf at 300
the final area is quite empty too ... with assorted hey we need help over here repeteables .\\



to the orginal poster <and any one else who caped out and wants soemthign fun i guess>.. i feel it too mate .. my suggestion is play warframe while you wait for new content . the game play is simmilar <superior> and 50 hours in i havent been disapointed yet .. its not open world but theres constant progression and things to do and gear to get and try out ..


to every one else saying ... well its new waht did you expect , hey theres lots to do grind the "challenges" ect .. why did you rush through !? you knew there wasent much game here ..
well soon enough you will all be feelign what this guy is saying .. and it wont be long even the most casual player will be at the end of the story soon . you guys sound like AMWAY people .. oh no the real reward is at the end .. u just have to work hard and one day it will be good .. or some such we the facts are ... there isent much of a game here .. their might be some day but currently , there is not .
