I did not really read what others have replied, but it's not a single player game. It's a MMO. And you don't buy these kind of games for the story / solo content, well at least no sane person does.

No you have not finished the game. (EGO cap, weapon / car skill caps, weapons with best possible bonuses, all the achievements (or 'goals' as the game calls them))

theyre arguing completing challenges and pvp is a waste of time. so apparently they bought the game for solo content only which is a fail haha

There's really no incentive to go in and grind co-op missions or run around and do arks since it really does not give you anything other then more of the same weapons i have already.
The Pvp in this game is just ridiculous with everyone using grenade launchers that one shot you and everyone being in stealth.

From what im reading in other threads is that there will be DLC that will launch later on corresponding with the show, and everytime i hear DLC theirs always a price tag behind that.
so then we will have to wait a week and a half for the show to air for new content to come out and again after?
that seems cool but when the game can be completed in a few days you now have to wait till more content comes out?

It just seems that I purchased an incomplete game and have to wait 2 weeks for ~8 hours of more game play each time.
this game is going to fall apart with a system like that.
also taking into consideration that more games will be coming out in that time that will pull people away from this game because theirs nothing to do.
So i guess its just another single player game that when you beat you just toss it off to the side and move over to the next.

Any of the numerous random encounters out in the world.

There is the fact that I doubt you are close to the 5000 ego cap, I doubt you have most of the weapon skills leveled.

All those "Same weapons and junk" you keep getting can be broken down and used to purchase keycodes to buy mod lock boxes to upgrade your weapons with.

Theres actually a good bit to do in game. I haven't even listed all that remains :P

The 12 dollar shakedown transaction shop will more than cover server fees, so don't bring up subscription differences...

I like this game and am totally okay with the current release plan (I beta'd the game as well). The only reason I am in this posting is because you need to understand you are the polar opposite of those idiots who post on the first day crying about how "everything is broken and the game sucks".
I played WoW for about 3 weeks before getting so bored I couldnt bring myself to login anymore. Same thing every time Ive tried getting it to it because of friends who play. Its just mind numbingly dull and tedious to me. Does that mean WoW sucks and has no content at all? Of course not. It just has content that I dont enjoy doing. Same thing with Defiance for some people. You not liking what there is to do doesnt mean it isnt there.

As for the paying for new content. Trion has already stated the actual content, story, missions, etc will be given out for free. Extra stuff, like the new races, is what is included in the paid DLCs. I find the whole "paying for expansions" argument pretty funny though. You paid for every WoW expansion. As well as paying a monthly fee just to be able to play the game period. Complaining about paying for cosmetic stuff in the cash shop is kind of pointless, especially when using WoW as your basis considering they have their cash shop as well on top of the cost of even being able to play the game.

Game designers should know that just because you add something doesn't mean people are going to chase it. I know people who hate achievements and don't care about them. I know others who can't stand PvP. I know countless who refuse to raid on any level. Just because you can rattle off a list of features that some people will enjoy and take part of means that there's something people will want to do.

That said they still manage to surprise me how unfinished the end product is. There's so many technical issues (revolving around matchmaking, phasing, etc) and so many exploitable avenues it's insane. Talk to the alpha and beta people and they say they posted and gave feedback on all these issues the entire time as well. Personally I'm unimpressed but thankfully went into this venture with the bar set so low that it'd be impossible to meet.
can i this^^..a hundred time for this post. Ive tried to explain earlier that hotshots, rampage and the like is not content but rather something to do for the title ****** who love achievements. Ive seen this before, a game released with so little stuff to do and 70% of gamers love it until it becomes repetitive and not only do you lose the 30% that didnt like it, but you also lose 20% of the 70% that was all for it. Now you lost 50% of the fanbase, the in game world seem lonely, and all of a sudden the remaining 50% who thought everything was fine the way it was, is now asking for changes the original 30% was asking for.

Wasn't complaining about any of that, just using the cash shop as a counter to paid subscription. Cash shops didn't exist when WoW first came out, the cash shop now is the stepping stone to a conversion to a F2P model. That all being said I didn't want to compare this to an RPG MMO, I just wanted to make a point that MMO's before this one have come out at least 70% complete (ie BUGS!) with weeks (for OP) to months (for regular) worth of content.

I played this beta, and haven't seen a significant technical improvement. Now if you will excuse me, I have ego leveling to do...

hey, titles show accomplishments and i like to accomplish. i think anybody who likes rpg's likes to accomplish stuff. if your a casual gamer and dont like to do anything but story just shut up and wait for new missions.

Except that stuff is content. You can't alter the definition of a word just to suit your opinion.

Luckily you've paid all the money you ever need to for the game, so if you _really_ think you've finished all there is to do in the release version, you can leave for a while and come back. I would bet you money that there'll be more content when you do return that you won't have to pay a dime for.

Also, I'll just mention that if you really have played the game 40 or 50 hours in the past four days- and that's what you expect from a game- then you're very likely to be disappointed in pretty much everything that has come out or will come out.

Then again, you talk about Defiance as a single player game when there's explicit group content (the co-op missions), multiple types of PvP, and PvE content that scales to the number of players in a zone. You may not _like_ the content or think it's sufficient to justify your $60 expenditure, but the game is absolutely _not_ single player only.
