Has tier rerolling been changed to affect lower tiers? Bug?

So what I recall seeing when rerolling weapon tiers is this:

[Infector base rolls]
White Dmg
Green Range
Blue Mag

If I reroll Blue and it comes up range, Green gets a new random roll, so it looked like this:

White Dmg
Green Fire Rate
Blue Range

So everything as expected so far.
Rerolling Blue again, I thought that green would revert back to Range, but instead the rolls came up:
White Mag
Green Fire Rate
Blue Dmg

So the green Fire rate persisted it seems.

I thought in the past it would revert to its original roll, which would have been range..

No the situation you just explained is how I have seen it work in the past. And I think this is intentional.

If you want to keep Range roll initially select reset tier bonus (or something like that, cost 0 AF) after the first Blue re-roll.

So once im satisfied, If I OJ this weapon, are all the rolls at a new "base" for the purpose of using the reset button, or once OJ could the reset button put range back in the green slot?

From what I understand of your question, yes it is the new base. With the caveat that an OJ roll is added which could change the lower rolls if one of the lower rolls is the new OJ roll.

once upgraded to oj you will no longer be able to use the reset option as the lock on the roll you changed will be removed.

also remember, if you have a locked roll, that roll will not be available as the new tier roll on upgrade. this can be helpful if there is a roll you definitely don't want as the new roll. but on the flip side if you have, for instance, a locked blue dmg roll, then the new oj roll on upgrade can't be dmg.

This just happened to me on PTS, i changed the OJ roll, it comes up as another lower tier roll (green i think), that caused the green roll to change to another random roll! It was not working this way.

i use this to reroll high teirs with low forge costs.... or change multiple rolls instead of just 1 i didnt like

It's worked that way on every gun I've had this conflict with. If you have say a green reload roll and you upgrade to OJ and get an OJ reload roll, then the green roll rerolls to a random roll as well so you don't get a double set of reload. Not sure about the locked roll thing as I wasn't paying attention to that at the times I've rerolled my weapons.

afaik...it has always worked this way. i'm not going to dig through pts threads and patch notes, but when the whole upgrade system was implemented for new roll guns the chance to get any roll available at the highest tier was always a possibility. replacing a lower tier roll would always replace just the one roll that otherwise would have been duplicated instead of having a cascade that could change the whole gun.

i do this alot when changing the blue roll on guns as it effectively allows you to change white/green/blue by just continuing to roll the blue roll and replacing lower duplicates until you get a combo you like.

I find it unfair tho. When i want to change OJ roll, for instance, another roll gets changed, i mean y? i like all rolls but this 1 im trying to change, But i get another roll scre*ed. nvr happened on the live servers, so it's alright.

Another thing, I've a weapon with a rerolled blue roll ok? when i go to the supreming screen, that blue roll(it's shown as OJ in the supreming screen) reverts back to the original. Like is this also normal?
