A Noob Trying To Learn... Guns. (Help me)

OK, been looking at this post everytime I get an oj I feel bad about.
I am now only looking for any of the Sniper Rifles that were mentioned and a Mass Cannon.

What about Infectors? I have a fully T3 modded fop immunizer at 3000, is it even worth keeping? What should I look for and how are Infectors used to their strengths?

Infectors don't have much use for PvE sadly, and for PvP they aren't much better.

I have some more questions on whether or not I should keep certain weapons.
As of now, I'm wondering between an OJ Ground Pounder with 7 mag at 2200 EGO vs. Purp FRC Big Boomer with 5 in mag at 2950 EGO.

Honestly. With the cost to keep guns close to your EGO (to maximize efficiency as weapons get weaker as they drift farther from your EGO), I would donate most non named OJ guns to friends/clan mates etc. Keep really good Epic guns at your level until you find a better Epic version of the same.

So Keep the Epic Boomer and donate the GP. Though I like both dets for different reasons in game play.

I still use this thread daily and it has helped me A LOT. 4000 EGO now, and almost done with all of my weapond/vehicles skills. I can only get about 100 more ego from XP level ups, then it is onto pursuits.

My next question is... Shields! I've heard from clanmates to stay away from any shield with "DX" in its name and only go for ARK and EX. Why? What are the best shields for every type of play, if someone can explain.
Lastly, should I keep my 2500 EGO Rhino Blastproof V EX (30% reduced damage from your own explosives) and spend 500-750 arkforge on it, IN THE LATE FUTURE, NOT NOW?

What you need is a clan to help you out and some experience using the gear you're asking about. Good guns are subjective and as Kiwi said it depends on your play style.

You also need to disregard the opinions of those in this thread who are biased regarding weapons. Go through the forum posts of everyone who posted in this thread and you'll quickly see who is and who is not biased. You can probably even tell just by reading what's posted in this thread but if not, do some research on those offering opinions before you decide to listen to them.

Damn your right thzt waskiwi we miss you sweetie okay back to the thread personaly I prefer the voltan blast rifle as it realy does 3X the listed damage thzb the matzu so it give you more damG e on avarge but you will have to try them iut and make your own call and the big boomer is considered better than the avg ground pounder 1 of the best griund pounders in the f2f ame is the DC-8 milking maid but that is one of the top 2 or 3 detnators in the game the best is the apex sledgehammer and yiu can get the apex easily but not cheaply it will automactly come to yiu if yo u BUY wuth real money the $100.00 arkhunter bundle in the store I personally hate sniper rifles so I wont address them as far as infectors I love the invader but the INF27 Imuniser (part ofthe current event) has a increadable range for pistols the sildcat is a top of the line weapon then the wolfhound but wildcat is a DLC weapon and you get it in the VBI gunslinger box so it is hard to get the defiant few Crimefighter MK1 is one of the most deserable combat xhotguns the MK2 is nothing but garbage but to fet the MK1 you need the key code upgeade costing you 5 dollars of real money you need 64 keys and I believe 50k script the best rocket launchers is tge mass cannon but the big issue with RL is the ammo you can carry thats what makes them not the best weapon dam n I forgot to cover SMG's the techmag 's of varioys sorts havethe highest rate of fire and are very deserable the izsue with them is that they have the highest r ate of FIRE lol yep it cuts both ways with themyou run out of ammo fast no knowing all of this there is 1 more problem and that is cyber rigs you get those doing expeditions tgey can change all of what I just said so look them up

So, anyways... back to topic. Weapons vary in preference from player to player. In pve I personally prefer assault rifles as I like to just run around and shoot things. For coop maps and expos or events with large mobs I will run a big boomer as secondary

I haven't done pvp since Nov 2013 when I completed all pursuits, so other players will have to chime in with their more recent preferences.

As far as weapon rarity , don't get too hung up on getting the latest and greatest ojs or supremes . You will out-level them faster than you can maintain them with arkforge. Find some good purples and run with those as you continue to level up. Many players run with disposable blues and retrieve mods for new blues as they level up past the guns ego usefullness. You should not run with anything less than 300 ego of your current ego, especially at higher threat levels.
