    Trion Squelching Complaints Now?

So I just got banned from the Defiance Steam Forums for talking about why I am disappointed with the game. I mentioned that I had quit for a year about half way through season 1 when the DLCs stopped putting actual content into the game, and talked about a few bugs that have been around since beta that I have reported multiple times. They banned me and the quoted reason was joining the forum just to talk bad about the game, except I have around 50-100 posts in the Defiance Steam forums, and I didn't join just to bad talk the game. I was originally asking for help with a bug in that thread, but someone made a comment about why they quit the game, and I responded with how I had quit temporarily. Did they perhaps ban the wrong person, or has Trion started squelching people who's opinions they don't like?

Just curious why you're on the forums for a game you don't like and don't play anymore?

As for Trion Squelching complaints... they let people complain all the time. It's gotten to the point where I don't even bother arguing back or defending the game because the devs almost kind of encourage it. There something in the terminology used about the fact that it must be constructive imput regarding a feature of the game you feel negatively about... but whatever.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding and you do still play the game... in which case you I'm further curious why you're on the steam forums instead of here listing bugs in the game. A final peice of advice though would be to state your complaints in a constructive manor encouragingly and in a way that helps the developers understand your complaint in a positive fashion.

I think you can find some examples of the aforementioned acceptable behaviors here. It's also the example of why I stopped bothering to defend a game I love... when even the devs don't generally speaking seem to care about people complaining ad nausum provided it's in a productive fashion. I mean I could understand a suggestions collections but nope it's what get's your goat that is considered acceptable. So if you care enough to complain about the game feel free to do so... lots of people do and still get to stay on the forums. Oh and there are lots of other people on the forums who I'm sure would join in and encourage your comments as well.

I do still play the game occasionally, the part about me quitting was I quit in season 1 and started back in season 2. After about 3 weeks of season 2 i decided I wasn't going to pay for another Trion game. That said, I do still play the game, and thus have the right to critique it based on Trion's own rules in the Steam Forums. Still though, my complaints were not unwarrented considering I reported that particular bug in Beta, then again in season 1, and a third time in season 2. We are talking about them ignoring and not fixing a bug that is 3 years old.

As for complaining encouragingly, I used to. I used to beg for bug fixes and tell trion how much I loved the game, but the more they ignored actual issues and used the updates to either give us more stuff to buy with real money or add in another feature that takes forever to grind and a way to pay to speed it up. They have been ignoring the community since the beta and it hasn't changed. So I decided to stop telling them how awesome they are and just started stating the issues I saw with the game. With it being free to play now, I don't do this nearly as often, as there isn't much point in warning potential buyers (since its free).

You shouldn't be suspended, I believe I know which thread you are talking about, but your username doesn't match up completely. I'll assume there's multiple Barbzillas on Steam. Try logging out and in again if you're still seeing an issue. We welcome feedback, even when negative, but we do require that it remains constructive.

For the issue with the miners mission, we've observed that folks are able to complete this mission, but we've noted the more recent reports on Steam. If you're still having trouble completing the mission, let us know.

Okay kiwi, thanks. I was pretty sure it was a misunderstanding due to the way I worded my reply. I will log in when I get home and see if I am suspended.

    EDIT:
Okay, I logged in on my phone and tested it. I was able to post again and took the opportunity to be a bit more clear with my wording.

I know people who were permanently banned from here for asking a simple "constructive" question. This thread right here makes it clear that the moderators obviously need to to be moderated.

It boggels the mind... Players on the Defiance Forums get away with more negativity and complaining then I've seen in any other game. I honestly cannot recall any other game forum I've been on where people complained this routinely and were still allowed to continue posting. The thing that truly amazes me is the number of players here who seem to be glutton for punishments continuing to play a game they are obviously unhappy with and don't enjoy.

Yep, you gotta wonder how asking geniune game related questions can get you banned but openly trolling and admitting trolling after pages and pages of abuse to other forum users goes unpunished, which is something I saw the other day but was by no means the first time I've seen it go on.
