The issue of disappearing stuff was brought up in the Alpha weeks before launch and was seen across different cards so its an issue on their end that it, like so many other things, are on their supposed to do list.

Nice to know. I did some hunting around the forums before I started the thread, but didn't find anything. I'm assuming they wiped the alpha/beta forum upon launch. If so, I wish they'd avoid doing that for this very reason, but I understand the reasoning behind it. I know they wiped them for Rift. Thanks for the input, Sanguinesun (bloody sun?).
Not running from Steam. It's minor and builds very slowly, but I also leave my system on all the time and rarely reboot. Rebooted a couple days ago and after reboot, used video mem was sitting around 150, and now it's at 600 and only playing this game. It increases about 20mb each time I run the game.
Also getting this, and not just on bridges!
i7 960 3.8GHz
GTX 680 EVGA (2GB)
8GB RAM
This happens on PS3 too. I guess there is no fix for that? Tired or hitting invisible things =( then they load up after 20 seconds.
I can also verify its happening on the PS3. Honestly I thought that maybe my game disk was getting too hot, since I'd been playing a few hours when it starts to happen. Usually I just turn off the PS3 for about an hour and do some chores. After I come back to it its fine for another few hours.
Yeah, in the OP, I noted that it usually begins to happen after extended play, but not always. This might tie in to the memory leak Indolo is talking about. Video card low on memory could = video card drawing what it's told is "important" first, then playing memory rewrite to make room for the other, less-important scene items (like boxes and bridges).
I've found a few invisible things lately, but I do believe they're dynamic events that are occuring right on the border between areas where the server cluster that i was in is handing off to the server cluster that im coming into... usually at high speed in a roller![]()
And that would actually make a lot of sense to me, and would be acceptable.
The best example I can give of this is docks. Pick one, doesn't matter which docks you're on, they're all somewhat the same - a lot of boxes, couple of climbable ladders onto some cranes, some boats and some buildings.
Most often, this happens when I start to sprint. All the boxes and the crane platforms just disappear - even if I'm ON the crane platform (having the floor disappear from beneath your feet is terribly disorienting, especially when you don't start falling...). Stop sprinting, everything reappears. Start sprinting again, *poof*. Shake mouse. Bang head. Face different direction...
I have the same problem with an ATI HD 7950, using just one card I have the problem but not much... If I enable crossfire and use 2x ATI HD 7950 the problem gets worst and it's impossible to play. They should fix this plus do something about multi-monitors solutions.
I still have this problem even after the last patch.
