I am sure someone in the marketing department can think of some kind of event that uses the bit store and some overly priced items needed to participate in said event.

I dare say they will but the bits store holds nothing for me unless it's back pack slots or "cheaper" boxes lol.

What will most likely happen is some PR stunt will occur (i.e weekend bit store sale, or some random news announcement about whatever pertains to this game) which will distract players from their complaints.

Defiance has turned into my weekend game. Which is sad. I went from playing everyday and having fun to oh hey a game.

I tried to play Tuesday. Someone said they needed help at BB with an arkfall. I get over there and crit out. I wasn't on for a full 3 minutes. Followed by a hard freeze. None absolutely none of my other games do this to my ps3.

Let's not even get started on the Shrill content. I loved the mission but why didn't it scale to my ego? It stayed at TL6 in SV. I still love this game. Volge incursions in SF will always be my favorite but for now I'm enjoying Warfame on PC.

Speaking as a non-6k player, this game also sucks some for us not that high. Most of the gear we get we have to merch because no one wants to buy it at such a low level (relative to their current one), when another player of a higher level shows up on events, it jacks the event level usually way up, and makes it that much harder for us to earn enough points to make it worth sticking around on the event. Trust me, the grass isn't that much greener down here on the non 6k levels either.
