Auto Equiping Loot-Gettin real tired of your S*** Defiance.

So how to I set this game to NOT auto equip ever piece of equipment I pick up?
Nothing is more annoying than picking up something I'm probably going to sell or break down, and have it auto equip itself...

Why is this happening? Items should not be auto equipped, it's making me question wheather or not I really want to pick stuff up, especially during a firefight.

EDIT: Found out from posters, (thanks guys) that only tapping x will pick up without auto equipping.

Your the dumb *** doing it. Tap the button to pick up. Hold button to auto equip. Your ignorant for attacking trion when it your fault

He's definitely holding down X because once I figured this out back in the beta it was no problem. I've not even made the mistake in the main game.
