    White: 1 upgrade
    Green: 2 upgrades
    Blue: 3 upgrades
    Purple: 4 upgrades
    Orange: 5 upgrades
Now that is what I call a creative idea!

Seriously, I would love that. Scaling notwithstanding, levelling up a weapon to another rarity level sounds great. It would get a random improvement on the new level, according to what is appropriate at the current EGO level. (bonus changes with EGO level. Higher = more and better).

I have used all of them. I know which ones I like and which not. Can I now just get those I like, please?

Trion can you increase the required xp to level weapons please, set it so you need about 8-12 hours using a weapon to max level it, currently a few hours is way too short I feel.

You can actually reset the the weapons back to 0 xp by removing mods and retaining the weapon...just so you know

This worked for anyone else? All the weapons I removed mods from, it just does that exact thing, removes the mods. This does not reset any weapon xp for me.

It just doesn't make any sense. You level a weapon up which grants a bonus stat on that specific weapon, but now you shouldn't use it anymore so you can keep building weapon skill?

Personally, I've been exploring weapons due to the fact that they're all dropping in my lap. Get a gun I haven't seen before, so I go shooting and either love it or hate it. Forcing weapon changing in this way doesn't make sense, and players are already encouraged to try guns due to the fact that they all handle differently and fit players better or worse. The reward for weapon exploration is finding weapons that feel right in your hands, until you have to toss them aside to keep gaining skill.

And to think, when they first added this system in Alpha each weapon had a 75k xp limit. Personally I don't mind the 750k xp weapon cap but thats probably because I played the game when the cap was much much lower.

It's not the idea that is off, but the implementation could've been better. Especially when running multiple co-ops you go through your weapons as fast as they drop. I really like my LMGs and I like using all the different models, but I've already maxed more than one of each type and am nowhere near skill rank 20. By now I just feel like 'great, now I know them all - when do I get to use the one I liked best for more than an hour?'
Plus, it kinda feels like a pretty strange idea to throw away weapons left and right after I used them for an hour. In co-ops, I just immediately switch them once the rank up notice shows on screen... imagine your character just dropping the weapon mid-fight and taking out another one from their backpack like 'this one's done, next!'

Because if you do then your skill with all sniper rifles goes up and you get bonuses for all sniper rifles. Think of it like a spell. You can cast it over and over and your only going to get so good at it. Using a bunch of spells of that type will get you so good at that type of spell that all your spells of that type will be better.

    Progression goes like this:
    Max weapon skill.
    Get legendary
    Get the right mods.
    Get the right perks.

In fact the last two can be done while doing the first. Use reclaim mods to get your mods back and add them to your next one.
