I am 475 or so ego, and I have obtained 4 orange's and probably about 20+ purples so far, all the oranges were pretty trash tho, infectors that dont spawn parasite, grenade launchers that have to be triggered by the player, and a pistol that was electric but had the slowest fire rate known to man.

Get a weapon you like that you haven't maxed on experience and stick to it. Just because its orange doesn't mean your going to want it, it just pisses you off when they suck balls. 1250 salvage is bleh.

Got a orange detonator from a tier 3 box a few hours ago at 834 ego rating.

I buy tier 2 only. I think you get a smaller chance per item but its the best value to get get more chances. Youre just looking for the luck of the draw to flip your way no matter what so buy more boxes I say.

as far as I know, purple and orange weapons aren't lootable from enemies

So for everyone with a Orange/Gold weapon what EGO were you when you got it?

I got mine at EGO 304, first lockbox I bought (tier 4) gave me an orange LMG. Not a fan of it so didn't use beyond a little test shooting, but keeping it on hand for the achieve

I broke down bout ego 200 and payed 20$ so I could get a uniform and i also bought a few t4 boxes, got a orange and 2 purps, but ive bought more t4 and a few t3 boxes since then and I think EGO has 0% on influence its seriously just lock of the draw, and I definetly think t4 has a better chance, besides getting 64 keys is quick as hell once you start doing the little highway things @ 3 or 4 keys a short for 3mins of work plus scraping stuff and converting those to keys works out.

I've also only seen purps off major ark fall events where I kicked serious arse, other then that not much beyond blues or greens.
