How long will it take to go from Ego168 to Ego250?

According to the Ego grid, the skill I am seeking next requires an Ego level of 250.

What is the timeframe involved in going from my current rating of 168 to that target level?

At the moment, I'm assuming it's 10 Egopoints per level, so just over 8 levels.

You could do it, in like 1 hour, even less- just do Pursuits.

You can gain Ego from levels but also from pursuits,

If you want to grind it do the pursuits

If you want to have fun, play normally and in no time you will be there. Side quest, challenges, Arkfalls etc. the exp you gain from these will easily get you there.

As others stated depends on what you want to do to gain those ranks.

You can gain them via 7 skill points, but that might take a bit to grind out that XP. Probably best to finish up a Pursuit chain if you can't wait like cleaning up Mount Tam's accomplishments.

    Pursuit?

    What's a Pursuit?

Please excuse my ignorance if it's a stupid question.

I generally haven't paid much attention to stuff around me if it wasn't a mission.

I tried an Arkfall once, but it took so long to complete and was so dull I ignored them when they happened again.

Hit F2. They're your achievements you can do. If you want to complete one full region you can do it in less than an hour, and it should give you enough EGO to hit your target.

It can take longer to finish a pursuit than an hour depending on your ability to drive an ATV and learn the mechanics of the weapons in hotshot/rampage and how those particular things work.

For instance, I totally ignored pursuits, hotshots, time trials and rampages until I was around EGO 450. I went back and cleared out Mount Tam's pursuits (which includes the hotshots, time trials and rampages) and it took me a good bit to do because I sucked at driving an ATV (time trials force you to get better ). Also learning the time frame for which a multiplier will fade takes a bit of time to get a feel for to keep that huge bonus going.

Also to note this, Time Trials are hugely effected by whats going on around you. A Major Arkfall (the large red circles) will cause the time trial course to lag horribly due to player density.

All in all though it should not take you too long even just doing side quests and main quests. Remember to stop off and help out those E-Reps and do the random encounters you come across. They can net you some decent xp.

I realize now I have seen Pursuits before.

I was calling them Goals because that's the menu button that brings them up.

Do I really have to do all of them though?
    There seems like a lot!

Also, I notice a few of them involve time trials, which I've been avoiding, since I'm no good at vehicle racing.

Likewise, enemy kill massacres I was also avoiding, because I hate kill X enemies in time Y challenges.

Time Trials will need Gold, Hotshots/Rampages needs Silver.
