    Trion we need general chat
Is that your reason for wanting a general chat? Be specific and be honest.

There are already systems in place to help you engage in all multiplayer oriented content.
If you want PVE or PVP, you have matchmaking, local/area chat and guild chat.

A zone chat does nothing except let people talk about everything not relevant to the game itself.

Consider this: When you play something like Borderlands on Tunngle or Gamespy, there are plenty of chat rooms, but you don't talk to anyone. You load the game, find one that matches your needs and join it.

Trion doesn't want socializers, they want players.
It's YOUR responsibility to figure out the difference and whether or not you can deal with that.

    3. Needs to be more pve, raids or longer coop dungeons with a actual goal to get a good drop from a boss, plz take notes from world of warcraft dungeons, each boss should have set weapons that drop to make players run it more often.
    4. Lacking gear, outfits are cool but do nothing, so much could have been done with this
I really like the game but I feel like its just gonna be a gears of war type a game with no endgame or a MMO feeling
    1. I agree
    2. I half agree, the lack of an auction doesn't bother me as much as the lack of a storage/bank system.
    3. I agree
    4. I disagree, one of the reason it was done in this manner is because they want the game to be about player skill and not gear. Like Sledgehammer said once "a skilled 100 player can kill a skilled 1000 player." "Can" being the key word in that. I like the skill based system a lot, if they added the gear to the game then it would be like WoW and so many other games. In these games it's about the gear that you wear and not the skill that you have.

Those of us that are happy with it also play MMOs and have funded them. Eventually they will sort everything out and probably give everyone extra boosts time because of all the bugs and server crashes. You aren't the only people. On top of that, this game is free to play, so even if you are unhappy now, once the bugs are worked out you can come back for FREE. You have already funded them and they are working tirelessly to try and resolve it all. Give it time, programming even for some applications still take a good amount of time. trying to find the error in all that code can be complex and time consuming.

While zone chats being used for other crap is true, I have to agree with a lot of people wanting at least a zone wide, if not global chat. WIth the tiny range of local chat vs the size of each zone, and especially the entire map, the only time you can communicate with people is if youre practically already right there with them.

The problem that causes is you cant go into zone chat and just do things like "Hey does anyone want to join up and do X mission together" or "Does anyone want to get a premade group together for some PvP or Co-op missions" or "Can someone explain to me how to do X" without having to alt+tab out of the game, post on the forums, then wait for a response instead. The only way to do that now is to drive all around the map repeating that every once in awhile to make sure people in different areas see it. If you have a clan, and if there are enough people online in your clan, those things arent such a big deal. But not everyone is in a clan, and even if you are, there might not be people on, or people interested in doing what you want to at that moment, or who might not know the answers to your questions.

Expanding the chat might have a few downsides, like trolls and useless babbling, but it has enough positives to make it worth doing at least some expansion on it.

First impressions are everything. The excuse that its a new mmo is not going to fly with gamers anymore. its not too much to ask of these money hungry companies. If we keep putting up with it things will never change. How many game companies went belly up last year? Gaming going through a small revolution right now.

Wait, I can't be the only one who gets boss drops. Check your inventory after you zone out, I always get something, it just never says you do.

    It's lacking a good guide
Bought 400 bits got +5 inventory, exclusive outfit and extra experience for a day. Bought another 400 bits and got tier box 4 but it glitched out taking my bits and giving nothing in return.

Gamer Tag: Atlas TKD /// Character name: Lahar

No doubt! This game will go belly up also, not enough for everyone, just the loyals and Fanboys support this crap of a game, and the ones who log on and complain about change will soon just quit and all thats left is the Fannies...

Or those of us who knew that Defiance was a shooter can enjoy the game and the people with too low of an IQ to understand the differences between a shooter and an RPG will finally go away and stop whining. Though I have to admit watching so much flowing of tears provides endless hours of entertainment. Not bad for $60.

Actually this "gaming revolution" is basically a bunch of spoiled kids and shut-ins crying that all games are the same despite buying the 4th Assassin's Creed or CoD title released in the year while not giving any actual original games a chance.
The gamers (mostly the casual types) are ruining the industry, not the companies, they are just responding to what sells instead of taking a chance.
Trion is taking a big chance here with Defiance, and people are complaining because either it's not what they expected, or they have never played an MMO at launch and believe everything should be perfect from day 1.
