Are the salvage costs related to the level of the item or the ego level of the character? Both are kinda quirky, but the character one just doesn't make sense.

After reading several threads, and many posts, along with thinking about this more... I really think something is flawed with this game's leveling/weapon/mod/scrip system, that the Devs overlooked, or didn't really flesh out during Alpha beta.
And it's going to hit a brick wall once more than 50% of the player base becomes broke (in-game) and poor with blinged out weapons in the next few weeks.
GT: EDIT
Kiddo, lol. I'm talking scales. You should not be getting the same amount of currency no matter where you are or what "level" you are. Any MMO I have played item's got more expensive, yes, but you made more monies at level 10 than you did at 1.
~800 is not top tier.
Even if later enemies dropped 50 scrip, it would still take forever, but there would be a difference...
Im sorry, but are you for real? It's generally a good idea to not enter a discussion like this acting like a know it-all, when you quite clearly don't have the slightest idea what your talking about.
Level 1 can get a green mod with 1.05 aim 1.05 hip, a level 1200 can get a green mod with... ... 1.05 aim and 1.05 hip, diffrence is the level 1200 has to pay upwards of 50 000 in salvage for the modslots, not to mention a absurd amount of scrip.
And yes, level does mather.. the lower level you are the cheaper stuff is, theres the diffrence. And the problem.
Edit: Xeex, I really don't understand your logic either.. at 1.200 i am barley breaking even, at 5000 I would be in a severe debt.
And you seem to make the assumption that gear gets any better at high ego, It most definatly does not, the only diffrence is synergy which tbh gets added at a early level, and really dosnt change much no mather how high you get.
I can't help but wonder what level you are currently..

The gear is set up this way for balance, while at higher levels you can get access to better mods, the base guns aren't getting much better outside of mod slots they start with.
This is to keep the PVP portion of the game balanced, otherwise you'd have level 2000 + ego people getting into PVP matches with level 5's and the level 5 getting completely destroyed with a single shot.
The only way around that would be to keep PVP areas set by levels.... but then again you simply won't have enough people to continually fill up the lower level ego ones in say 3 weeks time.
Also I too noticed the script rewards for killing creatures was bonkers, 1 script for killing a creature, like WTF... Although can't you replay races/rampages to get good script? I seem to recall me doing the hotshots one quite a few time and making some "Phat Lewtz" or scripts that way.
The whole pvp balance argument kind of makes me laugh when all I see are people complaining about how pvp isn't balanced due to shotguns, cloak and grenade launchers.
Besides, all they'd have to do is put a weapon loadout in the pvp window, they already have seperate outfits for the pvp, so a separate weapon loadout dividing pve from pvp wouldn't be an issue.

Im sorry, but is reality completely lost on you? Even with the best gear in game, and maxed weapon skills, a lvl 5 would have a fair chance against a level 5000. money does not change that one bit.
And exactly what are these better mods you are talking about? im 1200 and I sure as hell havnt seen them.
Honestly I don't mind having a discussion about this with someone who has a valid point, or even has a general idea about whats hes talking about, but you quite honestly just seem to be rambling out completly random non-sense with no basis in reality what so ever..
Best example I can think of at the top of my head is this:
A normal person visits a specific bar for the very first time, he is charged 8$ for a beer.
Later a long time regular of the bar, who has become quite the familiar face walks in, he gets charged 800$ for the very same beer.
The next time that regular visits the bar, he is even more of a common face among the crowd, this time he gets charged 900$ for the beer he last week payed 800 for.
Now this example may seem bizare to you because of high and illogical dollar values i used, but that is exactly it, these are the kinda diffrences we are seeing in game as we level up, and to me atleast they are completly bizare.
Respec cost is pretty bad. Not sure the mod thing is a huge issue as it seems tons of the 1k+ stuff has 4 slots anyway?
