Its really easy to hit 1000 with little to no effort just doing the goals. In either case and aspeople have mentioned, the cost of mods/respecs etc. is completely out of whack with how much resources one is earning.

It has nothing at all to do with leveling speed. It has to do with income earned vs costs at higher levels. It isn't something you can avoid facing by leveling more slowly.

You get a lot of scrip from arkfalls, but yes the amounts you get in missions and from mobs is small. And with increasing costs to salvaging items it doesn't seem to balance well.

You dont have to feel like you need to level fast to level fast, its just a side effect of playing the game well. You act like the people who blow through levels dont have fun.
This game is meant to be staggered out slowly with a tv show, currently there is no reason to rush rush rush. Im typically a hardcore gamer but I see what the developers are doing by making it this way. They may have a max ego of 5000 but they dont really intend for people to rush it like crazy because they dont even have content to make it worth going that far.

As they release more content I could see them raising the earnings or lowering costs but currently the choice they made is to SLOW down people who are trying to crack through too fast. Im taking it rather easy although I rushed the story mode so that I dont get bored before they even release the show, doing arkfalls as much az possible for the mad xp and 3k salvage usually get and savjng most of it up for when they do start adding more content. I also have been keeping most of my maxed weapons fo the future because I do see them fixing the current system with xp on that considering how good these weapons will still be even later on. If you truly are having money problems and salvage stop modding out so much just use the slots that come on a weapon, or start another charqcter and give your mqin all the scrip u earn. Either way this game has alot of evolution coming so just take it down a notch or you will just keep being less satisfied at this rate.

So I went back and looked after I read the OP's comments. I modded a Ego lvl 360 blue AR to get the last slot for a clan member and the cost was 12,000 salvage. Take the same weapon EXACTLY but at level 948 and it is 30,000 to do the same thing. The OP is correct, this is just silly. Granted now that they offer some actual rewards such as blue or purple items for doing ark falls, you can still have salvage coming in. I have done hardly any side missions and only really done the story missions to get to SF and then went back to do challenges. I have a good amount of salvage, so side missions aren't giving it to me, it is salvaging everything instead of selling it. Script really isn't used in this game as much as salvage, so you could earn a lot that way. I still think 30,000 is a lot at 900 Ego. I could only imagine the price at 5000 Ego.

Seriously what are you on about? should people do theyr very best to avoid leveling? should players not be allowed to dictate the pace they play at themselves? much like you have clearly dictated your own pace? should I judge you for being a slowpoke? cause I havn't..

And to be honest the last part of your reply just shows that you have completly run out of poor arguements as to why it should be as at it is, pety insults that only reflect poorly on yourself.

Incase you hadn't realised it yet, the pursuits alone give around 1500 ego rating.

As for you mr.monk, I would like to know what brings you to the conclussion that having a punishing economy at higher levels in anyway slows down anyones ego rating? If you truely belive devs made it this way to slow people down, then I would say you give the devs to little credit, as they would hopefully realise that you can reach 5000 just as easily using the starter rifle as with any other gun.

Delte, 400 scrip from major arkfalls, thats not alot :/

I realise this might very well be a oversight, and I dont expect it to be fixed over night, however you damn well better belive ill speak up when I see something that is quite clearly broken

I agree, Tankers and Monarchs should yield more money. I mean... Taking on either of them solo is an absolute Hell.

Hey Trion! We want.... More munay, buddeh.

No, I think that IS the point. Why would someone with EGO 3000 need to respec? If they want to change their character that late in the game, they have to be prepared to pay. Or just make a new character. I can see the logic in that.

How many MMOs give you the option to change your class once your're in the end game?

I would agree if not for the fact that gear at 500+ EGO still has the exact same stats as gear you get when you first start... SMGs do 120ish, AR's do 200, LMGs do 200... unless you can get contracts done and get rep gear which do about twice that. I'm 569 and still using the exact same gear I had at ego 50 because there are NO UPGRADES. Hell I roll without perks most of the time because the game keeps removing them from my loadout and I never even notice unless I'm in my inventory comparing a new item I looted (which always has the same stats of what i had 500 EGO ago)

I'm getting higher, more perks, more cash... mobs are still a *****. 2 bullets and my 1600 shield is gone, 3 more bullets and I'm dead. even when my perks are on... 750 more HP, over 50% dmg reduction 30% HP regen... makes no difference.

If you're going to bother putting in tiered equipment with various rarities and "level" requirements and scaled costs... make them better than noob ****!

buy more lockboxes... also avoid T3 and T4 lockboxes.. 4 items for 64 keycodes and 5k? script in one t4.... can get 16 items for the same price with T2's (8 keycodes and 1k script each) so not only 4x the salvage but 4x the chance of good gear.

Before someone says it, higher tiered box does not have a higher drop % for anything.
