Anyone ever heard of Legend of the Seeker ?
If you haven't, I suggest checking it out.
Helped spear-head a campaign for it years ago to renew it for a 3rd season, but alas there just wasn't enough promotion for it and the fan base could only do so much. (Seriously, we took out ads and billboards and contacted entertainment news stations and various talk shows that we managed to get the attention of, but it was too late for the show. Not that we've given up... of course. 6 years later and we're still fairly gungho about it.)
Anywho.
It's pretty great.
And it's "loosely" based off my all time favorite novel series "Sword of Truth".
Sadly the writer of said books is kind of a jerk and was wholly offended someone was inspired enough to want to do a show based on his books - - long story short, he limited their usage of his themes and characters and backstories significantly. If by chance you happen to read the books before checking out the show, might be best to consider them two different things altogether.
Thouuugh. Frankly, most adaptations tend to be woefully lackluster to their original material.
Meh.
Seeker was still pretty great IMO. Cheesy, great cast, and tons of butt kicking.
