three thing will either happen here:

1, as the over priced gear fails to sell, people will eventually get bored and stop using the exchange since its taking so much scrip for item not selling

2, prices will eventually come down as people realise every non sale costs them scrip.

3, the players will adapt to the higher prices

at first i didnt like the upfront scrip price of listing items, however now that ive seen it in action, this is the mechanic battling these over priced items that will just keep getting listed over and over

Exchange is like a big yard sale. A lot of second hand, not-so-great stuff. But in the midst of all the junk are some real gems. Best items I have found are not necessarily named items, but high quality non-named. Pricing is a bit all over the place but that should be expected considering the relatively low player population. It has certainly made scrip more important and I think that is a good thing. Things will get interesting during the next event when more players are buying and selling. I the meantime, let's hope they get the "pending" bug fixed.

Buy it -- Don't buy it, no issues for me. When (if) they fix the confirmation issues with buying, things will straighten out.

If you can't get something for a reasonable price then you either don't have what people are looking for or you have the wrong friends. Don't expect to go to the exchange and get amazing deals because it's not going to happen 99% of the time. The exchange was put in place as a ~scrip sink and a way to enable players to deal to the masses.

Just my two cents here. But who cares if the prices are crazy. Folks can buy or not...their choice. But crazy prices will lead to crazy seller fees for non-sold items. It will level out after a while. I actually found a mod I have been looking for a long time. It was reasonably priced so I bought it. So it goes. I think the exchange is a good thing (once the bugs are ironed out).
