I'm pretty sure I already know the answer but... Can we upgrade rare(blue) items 2 rarity levels to OJ in the same fashion that we can upgrade epic(purple) 2 levels to supreme?

No, You can only upgrade blues (and below) one time. Purples are the only rarity that can be upgraded twice.

Why do encryptions exist in the first place? If you wanna spend Arkforge on a white, green, blue why can't you? Doesn't hurt the game, and the games flooded with ojs as is.

I really see no reason they exist with the game in its current state.

Devs said they would consider changing this a while ago. With the piper shields normal I can't see how this could have any adverse effects on the game.

Precisely. It could be an Arkforge dump. But I wish they would increase ark forge rewards from doing incursions and arkfalls at least.

was originally green and was the reward gun from the first mission you did (Chaos Reigns). Interesting Side note that there is not VBI in the HP-6 Wolfhound name. Also interesting fact this gun is the basis of the Black Cat gun skin and the reticle.

When they first introduced the upgrade system you could upgrade from white all the way to OJ. The issue was there were lots of people crafting super weapons. Then when they had said weapon they didn't need to spend any more AF on other guns. Now that you can change rolls as well. So relatively cheap super crafting of weapons could occur. It is not a system I see Defiance going back to any time soon.

As usual, there would be a trade-off. If the old rarity upgrade system is restored, I doubt the arkforge rewards would increase. If anything, this would direct more people to the store to purchase forge . Also, if encryption is done away with, then it would be logical to assume that encryption bonuses would also go away.

Back when we could take a white gun to oj, the scoring system was different and arkforge was plentiful. You could not give away oj guns because there were so many. You could go to a dark matter major, score 500 k in points and walk away with nearly 70 forge. The ninja nerf in late summer 2014 changed all of that in a single update. This was done to pave the way for free to play launch shortly after. I do not think much will change to how it was back then.
