Hate to tell you OP, but you're wrong. The boss is ALL about skill. It is also about knowledge of the fight. You have to know how to dodge, when to dodge, and when to pump Nim full of lead (or shrapnel, or energy).

How you can possibly beat him and say its NOT a skill based fight is just astounding to me. His charged up huge damage dash? Skill based dodge. His phase 3? All about quick reactions and controlling your position in the environment. You have to learn the fight to be able to make USE of skill in it, but that's normal for ANY game. Once you learn it its very consistent and its still challenging.

All in all one of the best experiences I've ever had in a single player shooter game.

The hardest boss you've ever faced? Dear lord dont ever go near Dark Souls, you'll tear your eyes out...

Nim just plain old isnt *hard* - hes a challenge - and a relatively easy one to conquer provided you pay attention, have a decent loadout you are proficient with and are patient.

I think it was a damn cool encounter.

You guys who are crying about him being too difficult - man up and get with the program! ;D

(Incidentally - I beat him using a Cluster Shotgun and a completely un-modded and un-leveled BMG, with Overcharge as my power.)

I didn't die once. I had a powerful pump action shot gun and a 3-round burst assault rifle. Used cloak and had no difficulty. Wasn't hard.

Try facing the bosses of Dark Souls. Now that's difficult if you don't know about it.

    1st phase - 4 deaths
    2nd phase - 6 deaths
    3rd phase - 3 deaths

By deaths, that is referring to extractions. Not self revives. Would be x2 the number of self revives. I would just like to point out and there are [countless] others who do agree with me in saying this boss is one of the hardest, and very disappointing bosses also. There is little to no skill involved with the boss honestly. It's a rinse and repeat cycle and once you nail down what to do, you will get it, the training in the game and the entire campaign just led up to rolling all over the place trying to dodge fireballs for 1 hour of trying to kill Nim and the clones in the 2nd phase was almost impossible, I will say though I had the biggest smile ever after each phase was done, and this boss was incredibly hard. I believe he needs to be nerfed, honestly.
Dead or Alive boss. come on there are way harder bosses than Nim. Nim is a noob who just spams the same attack and leaves the same opening. His weakness is Cloak because he can't see you and bam critical hit.

If you are indeed "extremely proficient in video games" I find it odd that you had such a hard time with Nim, he is FAR from the hardest boss in video games. Im not "extremely proficient in video games" and I had no issues with him.
    Platform: PC
    Character: Blackwolfe (EU)

    Rolling with the Red Thugs!

he was pretty easy imo not sure what you found hard just gotta roll like a boss. i was about invis and about 800 ego when i fought him maybe i was overleveled

Hmm i liked the challenge but really he isnt as tough as some people claim, Granted i died 1 time in the first phase but not at all in the next 2 phases.

1st phase - Roll is your friend, Keep rolling when he comes close and when he does his charge thingy just keep rolling either right or left

2nd phase - Pretty much the same but with more ''nims'' (The fake nims die fast tho) also when he teleports up fight him in a corner, shoot the 3 closest ''nims'' and take cover behind a pillar to dodge the orange tomahawk like thingy's.

3rd phase - Last phase is probbaly the eassiest, See that big round pillar in the middle? Not only does it block his attacks you can use it as a cat and mouse game, just keep running and running and keep him on the other side, He does however spawns pillars every now and then just shoot a few and roll back to the big round pillar, If your shield is down and your health is low dont worry just keep running around the big round pillar untill your shield is back.

BTW i defeated him with the El Diablo smg, (the one you get from a story mission)

He is tough but so are you , Roll is your best friend in this battle and you should use it as much as possible.

Beat him on the first try. Had no luck with the assault rifle. Ended up using an auto shotty. Used overcharge. Was less than 300 ego. Used one self revive. Used a 3 or 6 second shield recovery. It was hard, I wouldn't say too hard. It did take a while too. I ended it with a lucky grenade throw and nailed most of those clones at the same time.

Heard people dying a lot on him so I was always curious before I had to face him but when I did I didn't die once (lol) due to using dodge. It's an intense fight but IMO definitely not the hardest.

Beat him with a BMG + Shotgun (for the crystals).
