I just beat him this morning, and it was less difficult then was portayed in the forums. I think that most people who find this unbeatable just rush through the story. I think some of the sidequests were harder and overwhelming. However, he is not easy and a bit annoying. If you are a mmo player, i can understand that you think it needs a nerf. But if you are a shooter fan ... i think differently of you :P

btw: Blur is really good to get out of those situations where he comes up to you and wants to slash you with his sword. Also, dont fall for the melee damage option in blur ... horrible noobish death awaits you lol

It took me about 6 times to beat him, he is hard but if you use your tactics right and learn each time you die he becomes easier, killing him makes you think you cant just stand there and shoot you have to roll, dodge, hide and time your shots.

I was unaware that Beamguns could heal and refill shields until AFTER I had defeated Nim. A BMG was my first legendary weapon and when it didn't do anything when I shot it i stopped using it, tried it again after Nim when I saw that it was a weapon that hit multiple targets, I figured out where I was going wrong with he weapon, but this odd thing kept happening when I pressed "LT" on the controller it just went blue and nothing happened. Then I used it by reflex in combat to attempt to aim the gun and *insert sweet baby jesus rageface*.

After I learned this (100% my own ignorance here) I began to wonder how it is possible to fail Nim? If you circle him with a combat shotgun (and no healing) he drops like a tonne of bricks. Almost all his abilities go in straight lines, so just never stop moving.

    wtf nerfs?!

NIM is so easy, it´s absolutly no challenge atm....

i´d suggest BUFFS for all bosses - no linear lineup of skills.... nim was so freaking easy due to his repeated circle of abilitys....

everybody who thinks that a boss in this game was too hard you definitly have no tactic and lack skill... srsly this game is so freaking easy i´d love hardmode for coop instances with better items

For me, there have been a few times when his area effect attacks have come faster than my LMG fires. I've been hit mid-roll and then hit again before I could try to dodge a second time. He has also moved so fast that I will turn to step behind a pillar only to step right into him. I know he has that blur move but it happens a lot and I never even see him. I don't think the encounter needs a nerf. I think it may need a client fix.

I think I'm about done with the game anyway. I love the concept but the Nim fight is all that I haven't done yet and I really don't feel compelled to try again. I'll probably shelve it until I hear there is some content added.

I found I might have latency issues after doing this boss. I play from New Zealand. At times even the circles on the ground showing where that geomorph attack was about to plant a pillar didn't show for me until the pillar appeared (which kills you). He'd even appear on me suddenly when on my screen I'd dodged him. So I'd have to say his attacks need longer telegraphs to allow for latency.

Even the voice telegraphs like when he was about to jump on the ledge, or start the geomorphs, at times didn't even play before he was doing it...something is definitely wrong with the server.

I'm fine with reaction times, but there's nothing you can do about latency, so I feel I was playing this fight with a handicap. Guessing by this, at least 300ms.

I've seen Nim's difficulty change a few times through differant testing builds. Each time (except in build alpha 3) he got tweaked that made him slightly easier. In the latest build (1.010) I beat him using ONLY a bolt action sniper rifle. It was ROUGH, but a bolt action isnt the optimal weapon for this fight. It did require that I plan ahead, and have fast reaction time.

For a slightly optimized setup, using a weapon of most people's choosing (sawed off shottie for example) getting through the first phase is gonna be the hardest. Use the hour glass shaped room to your advantage. Stay against the walls, and use roll as often as you can (altho I noticed that Nim's "hit" path was a bit wider than he is, visually). If you get hit, dont engage him until your shields have replensished, run around, strafe, dodge and roll until you have full shields, then engage. His first phase hit points are rediculasly low. Took me 2 headshots with my sniper to move him to phase 2.

Once in phase 2, let the decoys come to you and melee them, then fill Nim's face full of dangerous material from whatever gun you prefer.

Phase 3 is a simple "ring around the rosie" scenario. Just shoot Nim while hiding from him around a pillar. When he triggers the crystals, stay outta the way of them. "Dont stand in fire" comes to mind.

If it bleeds, we've killed it
