When I first faced him I was using using a EMC LMG and I thought he was the hardest boss ever. Then I said **** it and used a BMG and Detonator. With thouse two weapons he is very very easy.
Just rig one end with Detonator bombs and set them off when he is near them. Use the BMG to zap him easy and restore your shield.
It makes for a really lame fight doing this but it works. I cant wait to get a Sword from the DLC and go back to fight him. The way it should of been the first time around.

In any well designed game, all enemies should offer some challenge and bosses should feel challenging as well until you figure them out at which point they should be defeated with relative easy (provided you play with some skill and good tactics).
I think the issue with NIM is that his first phase is tough to start and allows you very little time to get familiar and learn and then you get a load screen for the re-attempts which can be frustrating.
BOSS FIGHTS are supposed to be hard and irritating. When I used to play final fantasy there was no youtube or anyone to help you beat the boss. You just did it day after day after day until you figured out how to beat him. I HATE kids like you!!!!! Straight scum of the new generation so lazy to even play a strategic video game without crying and whinning that its to HARD!!! ITS A VIDEO GAME PLAY IT ON THE HARDEST LEVEL OR GET OUT!! People are allowed to discuss what they think seems to be the best way to handle a specific boss. That's normal.
Well I do agree the younger gamers tend to take too many of the easy way out, I don't think to this extreme.
And to top things off......video games are a form of entertainment. Not torture.

How do ppl get their Ego up to 4k+?
I have done all side missions and main missions and only have Ego 602.
They play too much, too long. And a crap load of boosts.
That could do it.
