Defiance vs Rage... who copied who?

I always forget to post this lol, been in my mind for ages.

Well, considering that Rage was fist shown in 2007 and released on 2011, i guess the answer is pretty obvious

Check this video out, any resemblance with an expeition could be mere coincidence.... or not?

    https://youtu.be/D-9tyPsVNKA

Also look at vehicles, a dunny, pickup truck and sooo similar to the Nomad.

Even the lanscape is soooooo similar!

But hey, there are a couple of neat ideas there for our devs, like the RC explosive minicar and the user deployale turrets

If that's the case, then I question how many games you've actually played on a Dreamcast..

it doesn't look multiplayer or online

it's also an FPS. most FPS games will have something similar in common... that's just the nature of how games evolve.

could easily start making comparisons between Rage and other games... it kinda reminds me of Half-Life 2... Half-Life 2 vs Rage.... who copied who? Half-Life 2 came out in 2004, Rage in 2011... so the answer seems pretty obvious to me

anyway, since Rage came out sooner than Defiance, who knows--- someone who worked on Rage coulda worked on Defiance.

Defiance is a 3rd person copy of Borderlands. Same color gun rarities, enemies say "meet your maker", theres a whole 2 vehicles, you get stuck on the smallest raised concrete slab while walking, the walls and other objects snag you, all the guns are re-skins. Yep they copied Borderlands.

If we go back to the beginning, all comes to Wolfestein 3d and Doom, both created by the same creators of Rage, Id software (originally John Carmack and Tobias Boon) everything that followed could be considered "inspired" on them.

What i was talking about is the environment, vehicles, setting, which are very much alike
