Question: How many patches were there last year?

After a year of not playing the game i woke up today thinking: 'Hey, lets play Defiance!'

After 12 hours of downloading small patches of 1 minute and a gazillion critical errors i have a question: How many of these small patches i have to download before i can play?Is it normal that it takes up to 12 hours of patching and lots of patch errors? And the last question: Is there any other way to play the game?

You should only need to download the latest patch, have you tried deleting all patches and just updating to the latest 1?
