being shot from behind turns you around to face your attacker

I have been playing a number of FPS games and this is the first one that when i get shot by a sniper - specifically the ones that can cloak - it spins my character around -

very confusing, i will be in a fire fight with one enemy and get spun around like a top, and

i really would rather not have that happen,

maybe i am missing a setting somewhere, but i have turned off targeting assistance and it does no good.

it gets really bad when i the sniper is up high (they usually are) and my character simply spins around to that point, but not the correct elevation even

i have died many a times on this "feature" or bug, idk...

the dark snipers are prety bad too, as they will cut down my shield with one shot, if there are 2 snipers then I'm dead, well as i have leveled, it all but kills me with 2 snipers now. they are very hard to spot as soon after they shoot you they recloak and until they are ready to fire again you may not see them...

this turning issue plagued me severely when i fought Nim and i was trying to run away and instead it turned my character around again and again - not cool!

I have noticed this too and I've grown to despise it. It's annoying to have the game control your aim to such a degree. I've lost too many targets or gotten disoriented too many times while running towards cover because I get smacked from behind in the right way. This adds so little to the game and is mostly a frustration. It needs to end.

Gonna have to agree with this being changed/fixed. It's jarring in the middle of a fight when you're trying to focus on one enemy (a boss or someone who's going to be the most trouble so you're trying to get them out of the way) only to be facing another direction and trying to scramble to get your sense of direction again and relocate the target.

this not only allies to snipers, must be a recent addition, as i don't recall this being an issue during the beta, nor during my first few days of game play, i created a new character and now even in the early areas, if someone hits you with enough dmg, it swings your character around, elevation is not correct, i was facing my attacker and because he was below me when i was hit, my screen pulled up sharply, and i had to re-orientate the courser to maintain my fire. this issues should be addressed and removed if it was actually implemented imo

it would be nice to see in the patch notes when this was added, but i can't find a location where all the patch notes are avalable in one place... anyone with a link?

I would just like the option to turn this off or on.

I have notice this issue also and played many FPS games that do not do this. There should be a patch to let the player have the option or just turn it off. I have to hunt for Snipers first. Please fix

Seems to happen alot to me when I'am fighting dark matter snipers. My current theory is its a side effect of the aim assist function and not intended, if it is intended then I really want to be able to turn it off it's gotten me killed so many times. There's no logical reason to have snapping to a enemy that shoots you from behind. Also on PC

Is it flinching, or something else? Because I'm all for the inclusion of flinching. If I pull off a sniper shot on you, I'd rather you not have full accuracy still.
