the spin around is the effect of the meteor rifle
i think most of the dark matter snipers are using this rifle
the description says "knocks back your enemy", but sometimes it can also turn him around.
found my first meteor rifle with ego 900+
and exactly this is the effect you describe here. its not the aim assist, its just a weapon^^
the coolest hit i got with this was while i was sniping.
i wanted to shoot a soldier, at the same time a dark matter sniper hit me in the back, i turned around and hit him in the head instead.
aim assist off, PC - and not just a sniper rifle, almost any heavy dmg done to you causes the turn, and this is in PVE not PVP, in PVP this could be fine, but not PVE
The Sniper shot should not be turning you around. Please patch.

contacting customer support told me this is a "feature" and can not be turned off, if you are as annoyed by it as i am, they suggested submitting a comment about it from in game, let them know how much it drives you crazy, and if you like, submit one each time it does so, this way the developers get the hint they need to remove this or make it optional....
I think this is an effect being forced on you like being on fire. Makes them even nastier!

I noticed that wit the Blacklungs. I wish I had their reload. fire and shield rexharge rate, as well as range.
They'd fire at me, and I'd be spun around, and kinda "frozen". Meaning it would take a second to get my BMG going to recharge/heal me. Or for my reload to continue on my LMG.
much more evident now that instead of just turning you to face your attacker you flinch just like the enemy's do when you shoot them, it's been refined, but still annoying as all get out.
Bump - I agree.
