mouse is waaaaaaay more acurate than controller.
Of course, certain people may be better with a controller, because that's what they are used to. But get equal skill people on a mouse & a joystick and you will see just how much more accurate the mouse is.
That said, my xbox controller is plugged in for the driving sessions where analog steering is significantly better than on/off digital steering.
I'm on Xbox and turned it off, so did my friend. It was actually harder to aim with that thing on, so I'm glad that there was possibility to turn it off, some games don't have that option and it's very annoying.
just seen the extra bit on your message. and yeh i think it works differently , i dont think say sniping for instance takes any physics into considering , its just point and shoot .
so literally if you line your crosshair , boom headshot . i dont know the exacts ofcourse , gut a generalisation of an auto aim is that it plants your crosshair on the target for you . so your not really doing anything , you just drop in and out of aim to realign on the enemy , were as i prefere not using it as it requires an actual input from me , its not difficult to line up your crosshairs on someone , regardless of weapon ( headshots on this game are imensely sasifying with a sniper btw)
each to their own i guess , but from my personal perspective , a kill without auto aim means it was my work that did it.
weras if i used aut aim , it might as well be a quick time event and cutscene.
try turning the auto aim off , i think youll be suprised as how much better it is , especially for critical shots ect![]()
This here in Defiance is less of an aim-assist and much more true the the classic term, auto-aim.
To be more specific, the type of aim-assisting that you'd see in COD is most likely ALSO being implemented here in Defiance on the console platforms(and maybe on PC, but to a lesser degree), but SEPERATELY from this "optional" auto-aiming feature.
Dragshotting and the like is usually possible due to aim-assisting that has been added to a shooter as part of it's LAG COMPENSATION formula. That isn't so much about giving less skilled players a fighting chance as it is about countering some of the negative effects of lag.
I found this to be easy too. Targeting the tank on the back wasn't hard even with an LMG (not firing aimlessly). Some tricks though for people having issues. The BMG harmful ray will burst the tanks automatically if the little guys don't have anymore shield left (did for me anyway) and flash grenades burst the tanks too. They don't pause like normal enemies will, they just run to the boss after being flashed. Grenade should almost be recharged by the time they spawn again, if not just have the BMG as secondary and side step them while frying them and flash every other flame guy.
I turned off my aim assist before I touched any other option.
Otherwisely known as Hubris.
This is me in Defiance. Oh, and irl, too.
