    Rheumatoid arthritis

I'm currently suffering from this in my lower back and right hip joint, I've got quite strong medication to help with the pain but it's not hitting the spot.
Would anyone have some old wives tale remedies for this I could try.

Pot etc is not an option either.

Understand where you are coming from on that, due to the years of being a secretary/fast typist etc, and now suffering from rsi (repetitive strain injury) and sciatic pain also, and a lot recently too.

I found that when the pain is very bad and sitting down is not going to be good due to the weight pressing down on your lower spine, that lying down on tummy and playing can be a bit more easier, (ie. have a low side table at the end of the bed and put your keyboard and mouse on the end of the bed).

Also you need to take frequents afk breaks and maybe start checking into Jon Kabat Zinn, who does mindfulness and you can find him on youtube videos. Very helpful to relax to his nice voice, however, if you are male, then I am sure a female doing the mindfulness body scans may be a bit more to your liking. (not playing around here, I do find that amongst my friends it is a big help if you like the voice).

Other than that, it would be stronger medication, and heat pads, massage chairs at the desk and hot salt baths.

Never thought I would be typing this out on this game hahah, but seriously I do understand as I have not been too great recently and trying to get my health much better for the event coming up.

Oh, one medication you may find useful is Capsaicin, it is based on capsicum, red pepper, however, it can burn like hell, but you do forget the underlying pain, and it is also a med that they use on horses too. However a tiny, tiny amount needs to be used. http://www.webmd.com/pain-management...topic-overview

Good luck on relieving your pain.

Stretching. It might sound silly but keeping the joints limber is so helpful in fighting off pain. I've had to do this from various football and work injuries over the years. Do it just as a weightlifter might. A little more each day. Until you hit whatever goals you set.

Thanks for the info I didn't think I'd actually get any feedback on this.
This capsaicin is it something I can get from a drugstore or does a doctor have to prescribe it.
I'd assume it's from a drugstore but thought I'd ask you first, I'll also look it up.
My pain meds (Co Codamol) are ok as long as I don't try to move around but as soon as I move I regret it.

Co-codamol hahahah understand now why not hitting the spot. Codeine based meds make me sick and I have to take an anti-emetic tablet before I take my co-drydamol and dihydrocodeine tabs, which I also alternate with naproxen and I also use a gel to use, so that I do not take too many tablets. Morphine also helps out on a very very small dosage, but this also does not go down well with me, as I tend to feel a lot sicker with those painkillers. (I don't mind, as I am not a smoker or recreational drug taker either).

You can buy them via ebay or over the counter if your physician will not prescribe them to you, depends where you are based, as I am in England, UK. My doctor prescribes all my painkiller stuff on repeat prescriptions.

I'm in the UK too so I'll have a word with my gp when I see him next.
I've just had a repeat prescription so will use what I've got up and see what he says.

    Morphine works every time
Although the doc will most likely prescribe tramadol unfortunately these keep you awake at night
