havent had the time to redo the screens, but will do but to my experience ingame, some zoom a little further and some zoom a little less. Gona check into that and post it up.

Nice thread.

But I hate not being able to mod my machine guns and shotguns with scopes. Why would I want a sniper-ish scope when that's what my sniper is for? I wish I could have the accuracy increase and maybe even a slight zoom increase without the tunnel scope. I like my peripheral vision for my machine/shotguns, makes for quicker enemy killing.

and yeah i know i need to make the screens from the same spot to see range diffrences! but hell it cost so much money and i alway ALWAYS burn trough it in ALL MMOs! :P got 500 scrips atm :P

And now for the real sniper rifle scopes guide, with more info than just pretty pictures :

Here is the gun I was testing with, no mods:



Here is how it looks modded, all three tested scopes give the same look:



All pics were taken with my back at the vending machine. All scopes provide +0.10 "Aim Accuracy", whatever that means. I'd venture to say that the "+" suggest something is somewhat better.

The original sights on the unmodded gun:



The Marksman Scope sights:



The Sharpshooter Scope sights:




The Telescopic Sights sights:



As we can see, both the Marksman and Sharpshooter sights give a lower magnification than the original un-modded sights. Only the Telescopic Sights provide a better magnification. Too bad they look as if they were taken from a Hello Kitty gun.

I dare hope that the awful magnification of the first two scopes is an oversight and will be fixed. Now, of course I expect that some devs and fanbois would roleplay around the issue and say that these scopes are designed for real "Marksmen" and "Sharpshooters", hence the name, and these dudes don't need any magnification whatsoever, but I hope that common sense will still prevail.

IMO only the Tactical Scope provides the kind of magnification I'd need for an AR, the others zoom too much. But of course, just as with the sniper rifle, it just has to look as if from a kiddie plastic gun (ahem... if they had scopes that is ).

Edit: oh, and there is no mistake with the Commando scope and Stabilization Sight, I double checked both and they are the same.

Thanks to Moon and Neofit for taking the time to post this. Some good/useful stuff (bookmarked for future reference).

Totally agree with FailedSeppuku about scopes on SMG's - The effective range of smg's makes scopes a bit of a waste of time. At closer ranges targets move out of the scopes field of view far too quickly. I did add one and took it off the next day.

Do any of the scopes have variable zoom ? The ability to zoom in or out would be useful.
