thank you for providing a service that trion obviously should have in-game (preview the scope). Too bad this info is useless until trion fixes the fact that they made a stat do the exact opposite of what it's intended to do.

And now for the real sniper rifle scopes guide
, with more info than just pretty pictures :

Here is the gun I was testing with, no mods:

Here is how it looks modded, all three tested scopes give the same look:

All pics were taken with my back at the vending machine. All scopes provide +0.10 "Aim Accuracy", whatever that means. I'd venture to say that the "+" suggest something is somewhat better.

The original sights on the unmodded gun:

    The Marksman Scope sights:

    The Sharpshooter Scope sights:

    The Telescopic Sights sights:

As we can see, both the Marksman and Sharpshooter sights give a lower magnification than the original un-modded sights. Only the Telescopic Sights provide a better magnification. Too bad they look as if they were taken from a Hello Kitty gun.

I dare hope that the awful magnification of the first two scopes is an oversight and will be fixed. Now, of course I expect that some devs and fanbois would roleplay around the issue and say that these scopes are designed for real "Marksmen" and "Sharpshooters", hence the name, and these dudes don't need any magnification whatsoever, but I hope that common sense will still prevail.
I just sent this over to the bug section but then I got to thinking. What if the two scopes with lower magnification are supposed to be that way. Could this allow you to use a sniper rifle in a more assault rifle role? There is the one sniper rifle with the really high rate of fire comes to mind. Also the one the double taps each pull of the trigger. If you can calm the recoil and reduce the zoom with one of these scopes I could see this working. I will try this out tomorrow.

To be honest the best solution to this issue would be a second catagory of mods for Iron Sights.

basically you have the option to either add a scope for magnification or add iron sights and these will allow first person aiming using a mounted sight rather than a clumsy scope. same accuracy bonus but easier for AR/SMG/Pistol

I'm not sure if it was a bug, but I put a scope on a sniper rifle (a green t2 scope) and couldn't hit stationary POW's for crap. In fact the only way I could hit something was from the hip. The -0.10 accuracy seems to be quite significant.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me as well, I tend to think that accuracy is either still bugged and -accuracy is detrimental but only for Sniper Rifles. Either way I stopped adding scope mods to any sniper rifles after having been burned by that too.

I noticed the latest patch notes says something about scopes being fixed, has anyone confirmed this to be true? (PC Version hopefully)

Too bad commando, scatter, and stabilization were changed to the sniper sharpshooter scope... I hate that scope.

We have to remember Scopes gives bonuses to Accuracy! Thats all good! Check up and see if any of the scopes match your preferences! And remember check those stats to to match them up to your playstyle! Aim, Accuracy & Movement Accuracy!

Also as there are no way to preview them before modding them into a weapon (and risk wasting mods if its a scope you dont want) here they are. Enjoy!

Really like the images, but could you help us collect stats for mods to go with the screen shots? So we can decide whether or not to use a mod or wait for a better one. I find that for my self that I track and lead the target, then I pop into the scope and fire to get the aimed bonus on ones that I can kill easy.

I find it hard to know what is out what is out there when a tier 2 scope can have a better value than some tier 3 scopes.

    Thank you,

I use a Marksman Scope on my Bolt Action Rifle. I usually engage the enemy at mid to close range with a sniper rifle, especially in a group. I even go for head shots with a bolt action at melee range. This is just how I play and I think the low magnification scopes are for my play style.
