Question about Faction Rank(s)

There's likely another thread on this (I know of at least one, but I've already commented on it, and I'm not sure it pertains to what I'm talking about, so - - bare with me.) Anyway.

Faction / Reputation Rank.
Are we required to spend some in order to gain more towards the rank as a whole? Example; both my Echelon and Thorn Liro factions are currently stationary at Rank 6, and are capped as far as reputation. So, rank 6 - 1300/1300 - do I need to spend any of this for the rep to continue counting? Or, will it count over time even though the reputation itself is capped, and eventually when I reach the next life time milestone, will it then increase to 1300/1400 ?

I don't want to continue doing daily's as I am if I need to spend the rep before it'll count. I was thinking that it counts anyway - otherwise I likely wouldn't be at Rank 6 with Echelon to begin with (that thing was capped at 1000/1000 for months before this new update, lol) - but just so I'm sure. Pretty paranoid right now and worried that without spending, it ultimately isn't counting towards the next life time goal.

I have the same problem with many factions... as well as the pursuits being all kinds of askew... will the rep be capped til the pursuits are fixed?... the faction JPs are made of unobtainium... is there a fix pending, or tickets need to be submitted?

My Echelon reputation is also stuck at 1300 points and it's not progressing any further. It seems we all have this bug. Sent a ticket about it yesterday, so we'll see what they say. Oh and I hope todays downtime fixes that or at least brings back Echelon vendor.

Yes, you will have to spend some, and any more gained after that counts towards your lifetime rep.

This is precisely where I'm confused. Prior to this update, I've never had to spend any rep for the next 'rank' to be unlocked. Yet now it's stationary, which leads me to believe that with this new system- the next life time milestone needs to be reached before the rank will advance.

My concern is whether or not it's necessary to spend the reputation. Like say, if I keep it capped at 1300/1300 and spend nothing but continue to do daily's, will the rep earned from said daily's simply amount to nothing, or does said rep still count internally towards the milestone?

To be fair, spending rep can't hurt, seeing as nothing's more than 1000rep to buy anyway (Excluding the JP weapons, I don't remember the prices off the top of my head, thought it was 1000 rep too.

Faction jp's cost 1500 rep so you need to have the maximum rank with that faction, which is pretty lame =/

Makes sense. In which case, I'd say buy 1-2 of the 100 rep weapons a week and see if you level eventually increases.

Might do, but figured it was best to ask about this anyway. I don't really care for Echelon or Liro vendors, so it's a waste for me to waste reputation on it. You know, just in case we're thrown another lovely curve ball where event JP crates are tied into the amount of reputation you have... lol
