RDR Multilayer ,Map is bigger and has more content. Thats more of a MMO then Defiance is. Maybe I'll go play that plus the servers aren't locked .

True, but they do release with a good chunk of the game already available. MMO's and RPGs have to go the route of releasing and finetuning a good portion of the game, but because its so large they have to release DLCs, otherwise we'd have another Duke Nukum Forever. 14 years in creation for a disappointing game. =\

    Y'all whine too much.

Trion already has Rift, so it only makes sense to do something different. that way they can entice more players who prefer different things.
DCUO ..action mmo. Has all MMO elements. Raids,Instances, single player missions, pvp..etc and i still haven't played another MMO like it. The PVP is different as well. Is it perfect? no, but the reason i liked the game was because..when i blocked.. it was because I myself pushed the button to block. Not the roll of a dice like in wow and other games. The game required more skill. We can compare DCUO to City of Heros as well.

Again, this is something new and different. i get what ppl are saying, i fully understand. ive played many many mmos. what i think is happening here is players are being very closed minded. Now the only thing id say Trion has done wrong is overestimate the patience of today's gamers.

Maybe i see what they intend, maybe im misleading myself. But i really think as the show season progresses and the game grows itll get more of a feel that players are wanting. i dont think AH, pets, housing etc will be involved. But i do think raids etc will be introduced. if u look at games that come out ppl quit after 30-60 days because they grind the **** out of it till its done.

i think Trion is countering that with releasing little by little vs all at launch day. to me thats the new. ive said this since beta, the game has done nothing new aside from its approach and the way its bringing it together.

honestly i think most of the whiners are just afraid with the breaks in content release other players will catch them. they cant be the first to reach end content, cant be first to kill biggest baddest boss, cant be the first to do whatever todays gamers fill their epeen meters with. even though the schedule release will have little effect its the threat that makes em cry. mark my words, someone will say 'i wouldve done it first but f'n Trion held me back with their schedule. i was at (insert activity like school) or i would have done it first."

I don't see how people can say this game is a big disappointment when they said more content will be released when the show starts. If your that disappointed, put the game down, play something else, come back after the show released, if you're still disappointed, sell your game.

    1. Someone hasnt gone very far in the game obviously. If you think the entire map is only what was offered in beta, you're mistaken. Beta didnt allow you down into marin for example and Im pretty sure you've not been past the monolith I bet

    2. If you get stuck as a character? Fast travel. If you get stuck in a mission? Depends but Im willing to bet you've not figured out how to get something to work.

Game isnt a linear wow. Go open your pursuits menu and see how little you've done (as Im pretty sure you've done little) and that should give you a better indication of how to approach things.

^ Yepp, went back to starter areas purposefully trying them out and pretty much steam rolled through with perks mitigating dmg recieved and weapons moded. There is progression, it just isn't as obviously evident or as huge as "leveling up" people feel from other games

I have been playing for three days and have barely gotten out of one part of the map. Seems really big to me, but I don't have a lot of MMO experience. Maybe if you're playing 10 hours a day you'd eat it up so quickly?

45h over 4 months is nothing to your average mmo player.
I read an article made by an swtor dev that said they were overwhelmed by the extreme gametime people put down. They had expected people to spend like 3 months to get to max but people were maxing in a week ffs.
Thankfully you are not an MMO dev...
People can crush those measly 45h in a week man...

I don't think the game is a disappointment, just saying whats there now is not enough. I enjoyed playing the game . I am still playing the game. I do wish the world was bigger from the start. I feel like we are playing the beta version of the game. That ist not all there yet . Its a shame we have to wait for the rest of the game to be there.
