I'm on searching for whatever about the game when I can, joined a clan, and I don't want a backlog of any other games so I can just play this when it's out. Don't think I'm hardcore but a big fan. I'm glad the game is out 2 weeks before the show so I can play for awhile and then hopefully have better knowledge when the TV show starts.

    More love for Defiance!

I posted this on another thread and will put it here as well: I am found NO problems with the game, that does not mean there are none. I am either lucky or do not notice them. Apparently my opinion is assumed as fact and then violently refuted by others yet there complaints compared to my experience is not? Bit of a double standard.

    Defiance forever!!!

    Defiance forever!!!
This is something that we learned in various software development courses. Just because something runs on your system/platform well without issues doesn't mean its bug free or even able to run on other people's systems without issues even with them being identical to yours. Something I learned in something I developed for Dungeons and Dragons, Neverwinter, and Neverwinter Nights for drow/dark elves to use. It worked great on my system. However, my ex found several issues with it all because she didn't click things in the right order and she didn't do things that were expected to be done for the program to work. This made me have to fix it over and over to solve each and every issue, until it ran perfectly for her and even ran better for me after that as well.

It is the same concept with this game, no double standard or anything like that. When a person (or people [group]) says that something works one way, and if their strong enough willed, they can influence the words and actions of others to the point that in this case people would likely not post any bug reports or ever mention issues. This makes the game never get those issues fixed and people would just leave the game because of them. There aren't enough diehard Defiance game players to keep this game a float for long without going entirely free to play to draw in players that never encountered this game before.

So people defend their stance that their issues with the game so that the developers, moderators and other stakeholders out there can hear their issues and improve the game accordingly. In this way, we are helping them to better their game and the community as a whole by speaking out about the issues.

Otherwise, people that just say this game runs great, I never had any issues, and never encountered any bugs or issues in game. Well, good for you... but in doing so, you aren't helping to improve the game nor the community. If they were no issues, then they would be no need for customer support (lots of people out of work then because of that) and no one would get any add on content. Why make add on content when the game is great as it is... You never mess with something if its great as is...

Real world scenario that I've been in

As a game content developer for other games, I can say that I loved having people screaming for content and about bugs and cheaters. My jobs were simple, determine who is cheating, catch them, develop weapon systems for the game (content wise), approve weapons by other developers for the game, and to fix as best as I could through my own content projects, bugs that were in the game. It was only because people were screaming about various issues that let me and other developers know what they needed the most. And how they expected it to work out when it didn't work. And boom we (collectively being me and other developers and the other staff members) made the game better for all the players that played that game. The same can happen here if you just let people voice their concerns, issues, problems, and suggestions.

    Count me in!
I play Defiance every day since late January, still enjoying the game and looking forward for more playtime with the
    incoming DLC.
I'm 80% satisfiend by the game, many things to add and some things to fix but I'm sure Trion will bring more fun in the future, every day I check this forum and defiance data to see if there are any news.
Sadly there's not an italian site that do decent information about Defiance, there are only few sites and they mainly write news on game from publisher that pay for have coverage of the games.

Played since release day, and loving it. A glitch here and there, but all in all I love watching the game and show develop as they add things and expand the world. I actually kind of wish there was more of a role-playing aspect in the community somewhere..

Yeah yeah, still playing everyday since beta ;-) I wonder if the early posters in this thread still feel the same now the game and tv series are running?
