As previously stated in earlier posts, CODEZ, I wouldn't do anything of the sort. Some people (not pointing any fingers but It's quite clear since a particular individual left his mark, well, tried to lol) don't like the idea of a 'new comer' applying for the position.

I've spoken to a chat representative and he seemed pretty positive about the whole thing and advised me to go further by sending a message to a different section, that's what I did and now I'm waiting for a reply.

I'm not getting my hopes up at all, I just thought helping Trion out a bit might be beneficial for the forum. I'm just one man and I realize I can't change everything or believe I can do a 'Better' job then the official moderators (again which was pointed out by a particular individual) I'm simply trying to help them out a bit.

Other members of the community have also done their part creating some decent threads in order to help the new comers and regulars with answers to their questions, if any.

How can you moderate without access to the forum? I've administrated and moderated forums as well, and you cannot effectively moderate if you don't have 'moderator' access. You know, the kind that allows you to impose restrictions on users that are refusing to behave - like screening their posts before they are actually posted or banning them for a day or week, etc. If you don't have that ability, then you can attempt to be a moderator but it will backfire quite badly when the negative posters realize you don't actually have power to do anything to stop them.

I wasn't applying to Moderate the entire forum sections, I was applying to Moderate the Xbox 360 forum only as this is the only console I'll play Defiance on so it made sense to only Moderate that particular section.

Depending on what script this website is running Moderating abilities can be set differently, so some Moderators for example can only move / remove / create sub forums, while others have access to as you said ''Impose restrictions'', that part of Moderation isn't what I applied for as it's not up to me who gets banned or not.

I'm simply wanting to clean the forum we're currently in by sorting out the threads, creating sub forums for people who want to trade by giving them their own dedicated thread and vice versa.

If it backfires as you put it then honestly it wouldn't bother me, if some of the communitys members realize I didn't have certain powers then so be it, that really doesn't phase me in the slightest. The ones which constantly set out in order to greif others will be taken care of by the Official Moderators.

You can post anything you want within reason, Waly, as that wouldn't be down to me anyway. Posting offensive material will break the forum rules anyway and I'm sure the Official Moderators will deal with the culprits accordingly.

All I want to achieve is to give the community what they want and judging from the responces and various threads being posted by multiple users on this forum, it's quite clear they want the latter.
