Pretty sure you are burnt on the rep that goes over the current bar max, even if it is at the point where it will change to the next one. I would be seriously suprised if it rolled over.

Jimmie Mac is correct. There is an internal total count that keeps going up, even if you are capped with your current reputation. This means that you do not HAVE to spend your reputation in order to keep earning towards your next rank. If you would like to know the amount of total reputation it takes to get to each level, they are outlined on the season 4 pursuit in the goals section of the UI. Hope this clears up your issue!

A possible way to help fix the issue for the players so they could see progress would be to add a counter on the Season 4 Pursuit page, e.g., 4021/6000, i.e. 4021 of 6000 earned thus far. Seeing progress can make a difference.
