I was thinking something decent from best buy plus a little upgrading would be fine.
Not sure what all the brands are or what the differences are in processers, but I'll look into it.

Yupyupyup. The main thing you'll probably have to upgrade if you get a cheaper computer is the graphics card. If you need to upgrade it and you don't know for sure what to get just check what the system requirements are for a pretty new game or a game that you want to play and see what graphics card they recommend. Graphics cards are kind of a pain to understand. The letters are pretty useless and the numbers usually stand for what generation and how fast the card is.
