Why are the forums becoming so toxic???

You have less than 50 posts, according to your tag. As mentioned above, they aren't "becoming" toxic, they always have been.

Look through the archives. When I first started this forum, back in Aug. 2013, they were much worse. Unfortunately, none of those die-hard vets play the game anymore, because the very things that caused the forum to become toxic have yet to be fixed.

Than you have the elitist, enough said. We've had our fair share of new players that thought they'd show us the way to Defiance enlightenment... New players need vets much more than vets need new players. Many, many, many, many new players come to Defiance with a know-it-all attitude and that's when the community gets on to people. I'd consider myself a hybrid troll/elitist on any game I play. The toxicity has become much worse since the game went F2P. New guys have the assumption that if you complain enough things will be handed to you. Yes, the entitlement epidemic is real.

The entirety of this thread is because I posted t5 mods and some guy was upset because I didn't list what weapon type they were for. This is NOT my problem. He then goes on to verbally attack me and call me stupid because I didn't spoon feed him the information. His attitude is a direct result of the outcome of people jumping onto him. He was presented with all the necessary tools to educate himself on mods but decided to attack the person that provided the aforementioned information.

I will state it again.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make the horse drink it.

PS- I will be getting rid of my ps3 in the extremely near future so I wish everyone the best. For what it's worth, it's not the game or the dev team driving me away, it's the community on the platform I play on.

Sorry to say but I agree the change mainly happened after the game went free to play. We used to make post after post and have a good time talking about anything and everything defiance. We went 30+ pages about why men play girl toons, and not once did anything get to the point where a dev felt the need to step in. Now you make a post in fun about something and the trolls get it shut. I spent more time in off topic then any other part of the forum. Now the place is a ghost town. Zone chat isn't any better. The only thing going on there is the selling of over priced gear, and someone belittling someone else.

Vets need the free to play players,they need the newbies,because without those players the game could not exist,without a game you are not vet of anything.The game was bad enough to be paid with a too low base population,then it became f2p what hold it alive.

The first time I was going to download the game there was not a single page of a community playing it more than this forum,all the reviews I saw about this game before of downloading had the game as a 5 or 6 points of 10,with notoriety no one was going to buy the game,ever.3 years passed since the game came out,if someone has to pay for a game,that person would choose any other shootter mmo instead of Defiance.New players,free to play players,kept the game alive,like it or not

The people who buy bits, patron passes, etc. are the one's who have kept the game afloat. So, unless that includes you, you've contributed nothing towards saving the game as you implied.
