why am I having to redownload the whole game every time then it plays then all my files are gone and redownloading from the start wtf

All right, guys. I was just informed about what happened.
There was a minor earthquake registered just south of San Jose. This caused a minor blackout in Redwood City California where the Trion servers are located. They were able to keep only one of the servers active during the blackout on generator power. During that time, someone flushed a toilet in the Trion building after they were told not to because their sump is electric. This caused some minor flooding in the building. I've been assured that the toilet has been fixed and cleaning crews are working on the water problem. Metro Power and Electric is also working as quickly as possible to restore power to the affected areas. At the time of this post, Trion currently has power restored and expects to have all of their full-time servers back online no later than 3pm Pacific. After reading all that, you are now informed that it was all lies and I was just hoping to entertain you.

wonder if steam gave me wrong client... looks that way
also seems like validating steam game Defiance maybe resets the game to not installed or set it to download from start...
also it looks like steam and Defiance are not synching together
steam reports 13mb file due to me wanting to back it up after successful install but fail my luck

It's called the first week of most MMOs. Have any of you played an MMO before? I know it's annoying but it's not like the servers are hosting 10 player matches like CoD or Halo. We're talking thousands of people on a server at once. Calm down and go do something else for a while.

p.s. this is a fairly new concept for consoles.

The first weeks of an MMO that wasn't properly stress tested first. This is why open betas exist, and why developers of new MMOs need to get their heads out of their ***** and plan accordingly for this kind of ****. It's unprofessional, and in this day and age when there are so many MMOs out there, it's unacceptable, TRION should have KNOWN to expect this, they should have had backup servers ready to bring online in an instance such as this, and furthermore they should have updated the banner pinned to the launcher to show that the servers are down or experiencing issues. If this was a free-to-play game that would certainly be one thing, but seeing as how I paid $60 for it, I have every right to come here and ***** until this is fixed! So no, I am not going to calm down, and no, I'm not going to play another game, I'm going to sit here and raise hell until TRION takes some responsibility for their **** up, and fixed this ****!
