Why is it that it lets me log in, select my character, but when it tries to load tells me the servers are timed out?

yeah im getting the same thing as well. I got booted from the game and now it wont let me back in.

Yep, same CRITICAL error for me.

I actually am trying to log back in after getting stuck (not frozen, just endless loading screen) during a episodes mission (probably got stuck loading a cutscene)

I had to exit all the way out to the XMB, even tried logging out of PSN to see if you would at least kick me back to a menu.

Well I'm starting to regret this purchase. Since buying this game server status has been down 40% of the time, the rest of the time on the servers was so laggy it just wasnt fun.

I can see that this is going to be one of those "wish I hadn't purchased" games....

Im getting the same problem, its really weird though. My friend decided to go on his account on my ps3 and start playing, and as he left, I tried getting on and got the message. I got worried until i found that im not the only one experiencing it!

EDIT: The game JUST came out 5 days ago, given it had 3 different betas.. Trion worlds has a LOT on their plate considering millions of people have purchased the game and are playing it. Think about other MMOs that were released and had a hard start like DEFIANCE is having. Trion has made one other game: RIFT, and i heard that it had a bad start, and turned out to be a great game, if im wrong, correct me because i never plated it. The games buggy, it will get better, if its going to be a game you all regret buying, take it back before it loses value. I can say that i LOVE the game, and i intend on keeping it & playing it. Give them a chance, hang in there with Trion, and see where it goes.

Yep kicked off and can't log back in. Really sucks was having sum fun but same thing happened last night. Hopefully they will fix the problem

It is them trying to fix all the minor bugs so it makes the connection bad. I've dashboarded and its worked for me after. If not its all in time, always go check the "Server Status" part of the forums for information.
